Fujifilm GFX50S II Registered Over Seas and Likely Announcement Coming Next Month

Nokishita came across the first official mention of the GFX50S II in a filing today. You can read the filling here.

The Fujifilm GFX50S II is expected to be a GFX50S in a GFX100S body with IBIS and a modern processor, but it is still unclear if Fujifilm will get Sony to add PDAF to the sensor or if the sensor will be CDAF based with a modern Fujifilm processor providing improved performance.

Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 Can Cover GFX and Works Well With Upcoming Fringer EF-GFX

I have been using a lot of adapted glass on my GFX lately and it is surprising how many lenses cover the GFX well with minimum or no vignetting. Fringer just released a video with the Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 showing off its AF performance and explaining how to make the 150-600mm cover the GFX without vignetting. According to Fringer you have to remove a plastic ring from the back of the lens to remove the vignetting at the wide end of the zoom range and it shouldn’t require any tools to complete.

The video came out a few days after Fringer updated us about its work on a GFX AF adapter, but it is making me wonder if maybe Tamron might repurpose some full-frame lenses for GFX with built-in AF adapters like Sigma did with Sony since Tamron just started making lenses for Fujifilm cameras.

Today Only: Save Up To 39% on Lexar Storage

Lexar cards are recommended by Fujifilm and the cards I use in my cameras. The Lexar Professional 2000x cards are great, but the 1667x and 1066x cards are also very good. Outside of the X-T4, you can use most cards on sale without the card holding you back, but if you have an X-T4 I highly recommend getting 2000x cards. you can find the full sale here on Amazon.

TASCAM XLR Audio Adapter For Fujifilm

TASCAM XLR CA-XLR2d-F: B&H Photo / Amazon

Development of new TASCAM XLR audio adapter allows mirrorless cameras in collaboration with Canon, Fujifilm, and Nikon to capture professional audio.
TEAC Corporation is proud to announce the development of the TASCAM CA-XLR2d professional audio XLR microphone adapter for mirrorless cameras. This product is targeted for worldwide release by the end of 2021.

Product nameProduct Model
XLR Microphone Adapter
CA-XLR2d Canon Kit
CA-XLR2d-C
XLR Microphone Adapter
CA-XLR2d FUJIFILM Kit
CA-XLR2d-F
XLR Microphone Adapter
CA-XLR2d Analog Interface Kit
CA-XLR2d-AN

The CA-XLR2d lineup is a collaboration between TEAC Corporation working independently with Canon Inc., FUJIFILM Corporation and Nikon Corporation. The strategy is to combine the leading camera manufacturers know-how, and the high quality audio capturing technology from TASCAM.

The video and movie streaming market has been quickly expanding, and it is widely known that audio quality is one of the essential elements to influence viewers engagement. Because of this, the number of video creators and producers who are exploring better audio quality as well as better image quality has been increasing.

Since mirrorless cameras typically used for high quality video shooting do not accommodate a XLR input for professional microphones or a high-quality preamplifier, there are very limited options to upgrade your audio quality within the capability of camera itself. Currently when you need high-quality XLR microphones to capture professional audio, a digital audio recorder is required to capture audio separately from the camera. However, extra time is needed to synchronize your audio and video manually when editing.

To solve this issue, the CA-XLR2d was planned as a XLR input expansion adapter for mirrorless cameras that enables filmmakers and videographers to capture high quality audio directly into cameras. The result is the audio from the XLR input is directly recorded into the camera along with the video. Filmmakers and videographers no longer need extra time to synchronize audio and movie when editing.

What is more remarkable is with a digitized accessory shoe from Canon and hot shoe from Fujifilm, the built-in high performance AD converter will enable filmmakers to transfer crystal clear digitalized audio directly into cameras without any audio degradation.

CA-XLR2d is the perfect solution to meet the needs from professional users who demand the best audio quality to amateur users who are discovering a higher level of audio quality as part of video content.

FUJIFILM Kit “CA-XLR2d-F”
Thanks to co-development of a digital hot shoe connection with FUJIFILM Corporation, compliant with Fujifilm’s digital hot shoe, digital audio transmission directly into the camera and buss power supply from the camera is available to build a cable-free system for high mobility.

Preliminary product compatibility include: Mirrorless digital camera “FUJIFILM X-T4”, “FUJIFILM X-S10”

With the included 2 x AA battery box and cold shoe mount adapter, CA-XLR2d also works with existing cameras which don’t have the digital hot shoe by connecting an analog audio cable between CA-XLR2d’s analog out and camera’s mic-in.

EISA 2021 Fujifilm GFX100S and X-S10 Take Home Awards

Fujifilm GFX100S: B&H Photo / Amazon / Moment / Adorama

With the GFX 100S, Fujifilm has packed the groundbreaking features of the GFX 100 into a much more compact and affordable camera. Like its bigger sibling, it employs a 102-million-pixel BSI-CMOS sensor that measures 44x33mm, and which includes phase detection pixels for fast, accurate hybrid autofocus. Its updated sensor-shift in-body image stabilisation can now compensate for camera shake by up to 6 stops, which together with the low-vibration shutter, helps photographers get the sharpest possible images when shooting handheld. In Pixel Shift Multi-Shot mode the camera can even generate 400-million-pixel images for the ultimate quality when shooting still life.

Fujifilm X-S10: B&H Photo / Amazon / Moment / Adorama

The Fujifilm X-S10 is a lightweight and compact mirrorless camera with easy handling and lots of creative settings. Its image sensor delivers 26-million-pixel images, 4K video at 30fps, and a sensitivity range from ISO 160 to 12,800. The fast and sensitive autofocus system is reliable and accurate even in low light. The X-S10 includes in-body image stabilisation (IBIS) to ensure sharp images by counteracting camera shake across five axes. In addition, the camera’s internal stabiliser can synchronise with optically stabilised X-mount lenses for even better results. All in all, the Fujifilm X-S10 is an excellent camera at an affordable price.

Laowa Argus 33mm f/0.95 CF APO: VenusOptics / B&H Photo / Adorama

The Laowa Argus 33mm f/0.95 CF APO is an exceptionally bright standard lens for mirrorless cameras with APS-C sensors. This ultra-large-aperture lens is perfect for both low-light photography and for obtaining extremely shallow depth of field – especially when combined with its 35cm closest focusing distance. Thanks to its apochromatic design, the colour fringing usually associated with fast apertures is unusually well controlled. The long focus throw, low focus breathing and stepless aperture ring also make it ideal for video use. It’s available in Canon RF, Fujifilm X, Nikon Z and Sony E mounts.
