Fujifilm Nissin Air 1 Commander and Flash Review

I’m still flash shopping for my Fujifilm cameras and while I am really attracted to the idea of getting a Fujifilm Nissin Air 1 Commander with Di700A and i60A, it’s highly likely the new Fujifilm EX-F500 flash will fully support the GFX first. I recently contacted Nissin about HSS support and they do intend to add it with the Air 1 Commander, but once again you will have to ship your equipment to them for a firmware update. I’m currently leaning towards purchasing an EX-F500 for the time being and then adding the Nissin kit later when all of my cameras are fully supported including the GFX. Hopefully this will all happen shortly after launch.

Fujinon XF80mm LM OIS WR Macro 1:1 and XF50mm F2 WR Pricing Leaked

The same source that broke the Fujifilm GFX pricing for us that everyone else has copied in reporting has now reported the pricing of the Fujinon XF50mm F2 WR and XF80mm LM OIS WR Macro 1:1.

  • Fujinon XF 50mm F2 R WR $449 (Shipping mid February)
  • Fujinon XF 80mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro 1:1 $1,999 $1,199 (Shipping the end of September)

I am a bit surprised by the high price of the XF 80, but it’s a very specialized lens so maybe they are counting on it being low volume. I’m curious how much it improves on the original Fujinon XF60mmF2.4 R Macro, which is the lens I choose to use for most of my product photography photos for the sites.

Updated: There was a typo in the original correspondence. The actual price is $1,199. Still high, but in line with other XF lenses.

If you have a tip you can contact us through the site contact form, InstagramFacebook or Twitter.
