Fujifilm X-T4, X100V, and X-T200 Details

Since I posted additional details in the leak from Nokishita earlier today other sites have magically announced the Fujifilm X-T200 is coming in addition to the X-T4 and X100V. The fact that these cameras are coming sooner rather than later is verified 100% through my sources.

Less verifiable details are (because they come from unverifiable sources)

X-T4 details
It should be about 1/3 of an inch thicker and about 5-6oz heavier.
6k60p and 10-bit internal
Anamorphic Ratio Support
Probably fully articulating flippy screen like the S1H
IBIS

X100V
New lens
New back screen design (verified that they tried a few designs)
New Hybrid Viewfinder

XT200
XA7 like

As I said before these cameras are in the hands of X photographers so there will be more leaks to come, but all of the leaks that have occurred before hitting X Photographer’s hands or when getting their input came from our site.

2020 should prove to be one of Fujifilm’s most aggressive years as they try to beat back Canon and Nikon mirrorless cameras to take on Sony and I hope to have more GFX news soon for those that are asking, but as of right now there isn’t much on the horizon unless people at high levels in Fujifilm are being left out of the loop.

Fujifilm Registers FF190004 and Likely Upcoming Cameras Fujifilm X-T4, X100V, XT200?

Nokishita spotted the Fujifilm registering the FF190004 so now we have 3 cameras coming one of which has to be the Fujifilm X100V and another has to be the Fujifilm X-T4, which we leaked first here from a new source that contacted me via email, which I was later able to verify more with my reliable source.

I still haven’t heard much more from my sources, but the main source I work with believes we will see the X-T4, X100V, and maybe XT200 in the not too distant future. They are also currently unaware of any GFX cameras that are close to releasing so the few medium format rumors that are out there are more than likely false clickbait.

Fujifilm’s “FF190004” and “FF190005” were registered with China MIIT on January 8th. The data release date of “FF190003” registered in the FCC certification has been re-extended from January 24 to February 4. – Nokishita

Cameras are already in photographers’ hands so I’m sure we will hear more leaks in the days and weeks to come so stay tuned.

New Large Affordable LCD Smart Frame From Lenovo Shown at CES 2020

Photography has been moving away from analog technology for quite a while now with many not printing their photos or even viewing them on anything larger than an iPhone screen. This is unfortunate because a lot of detail is lost when not viewing photos on a large high dpi display or printed.

There have been a lot of smaller digital photo frame on the market for a while now and more recently some larger ones by no name companies that are expensive, but at CES 2019 Lenovo showed off a 21.5-inch Smart-Frame that is quite reasonably priced at $399. We should see more of these larger smart displays in the years to come as LCDs become less expensive, which might help the camera market if they are of sufficient quality to show the shortcomings of camera phones.

I hope this display does well and that we see more in the near future that are 4k and eventually 8k, but I’m pretty sure at this price point Lenovo’s smart display is going to be 1080p for now.

Rediscover Your Favorite Memories with Lenovo Smart Frame
The all-new Lenovo Smart Frame is designed to unearth your favorite moments and rediscover that perfect shot of the sunrise you took on your travels many years ago. Featuring a screen burnished with a matte screen finish and anti-glare layer, images on the Lenovo Smart Frame are made to be marveled at and viewed at any brightness setting or time of day. The color tone sensor adjusts the picture’s brightness in accordance with the ambient light in the room for a more natural and aesthetic viewing experience in your living room, bedroom or study. Play, continue or pause the photo slide or video through a range of hand gestures.

The Lenovo Smart Frame’s built-in AI curates your photo album by choosing the highest-quality images from your collection and then automatically composing them into digital collages to maximize the number of images viewed at once. The Lenovo Smart Frame also comes with a free app that comes with hundreds of art pieces that can be displayed throughout your home.

Set-up is remarkably simple, with a snap-on mounting system that lets you rotate the frame 90 degrees, allowing you to display your images either vertically or horizontally, at any time. This system also keeps the Lenovo Smart Frame’s power cord from unsightly tangles, while keeping your room clean and minimal. Users can also choose from a gallery of optional frame colors and materials to better suit their individual tastes and interior designs.

In North America, the Lenovo Smart Frame (21.5-inch) starts at $399 and is expected to be available starting August 2020.3

Fujifilm Will End 58 Year Long Joint Venture With Xerox in 2021

We have followed the Fujifilm Xerox joint venture fight from the start and now that Fujifilm has bought Xerox out of the joint venture they are looking completely terminate their relations with Xerox by 2021. Fuji Xerox notified Xerox Sunday that it would not renew its agreement which allowed Fuji Xerox to control Xerox sales in the Asia-Pacific region and to use the Xerox name.

Fujifilm plans to turn Fuji Xerox into Fuji Business Innovation to promote their own technology. Xerox offered to allow Fujifilm to use their name for up to two years after the agreement expires for $100 million in royalties, which seems excessive. One thing is for sure these two companies have some bad blood from the past year of fighting. Fujifilm decided to terminate the agreement when it became public that Xerox was trying to buy HP’s print division.

HP also released an interesting statement back in November 2019 about the split

“(W)hen Xerox exited the Fujifilm joint venture, Xerox essentially mortgaged its future for a short-term cash infusion,” HP wrote in a public letter. “We fear that the exit has left a sizeable strategic hole in Xerox’s portfolio. In addition, we have concerns as to the state of Xerox’s technology resources, research and development pipeline, future product programs, and supply continuity and capability. Finally, we note that Xerox will have to get access to the fastest growing Asia Pacific region.”

Xerox also announced Monday that they secured $24 billion in funding to merge with HP. It will be interesting to see how this partnership develops and if the bad blood between Fujifilm and Xerox carries on into the future.
