Fujifilm GFX 50S vs Leica M240 vs Canon 5D Mark IV vs Fujifilm X-T2, NOVOFLEX and More

The worst comparison ever? or maybe the strangest… The above comparison includes the Fujifilm GFX 50S vs Leica M240 vs Canon 5D Mark IV vs Fujifilm X-T2 and even the iPhone 7 Plus. These guys have an interesting sense of humor, but which camera wins? The iPhone 7 Plus! If the video drags a bit for you the comparison photos are at the end, but watching the video in full gives you a good idea of what shooting a GFX casually can be like. The camera is quite snappy.

Reviews
Bamber Photography – “this camera lives up to all of the hype generated by its announcement and release, and then some. It’s exactly what I have been looking for in a tool that will help me deliver better images to clients of all genres. It’s got phenomenal dynamic range and resolution,  great bokeh, as well as the sharpness where it counts, and low-light capabilities that are almost unheard of in this genre.”

Novoflex Press Release:

NOVOFLEX announces accessories for the Fujifilm GFX 50s

The mirrorless medium format camera Fujifilm GFX 50s caused a great sensation at the last photokina. The sensor size of 43.8 mm x 32.9 mm with a resolution of 51.4 megapixels impressed photo enthusiasts and professionals alike. Now, NOVOFLEX is announcing a series of lens adapters that allow the use of small and medium format lenses with the new camera highlight. Thus, soon a large lens offer for the GFX 50s is available.

Leica R, Leica M, Nikon and Canon FD, the market launch of which are planned for the beginning of June. Further adapters are in preparation. This also includes models for medium format lenses of the Hasselblad V, Mamiya 645 and Pentax 67 series as well as a camera connection to the universal bellows devices of the BALPRO series.

Particularly interesting are the lens adapters with Kleinbildanschluss for tilt / shift lenses, since their picture circle in each case is large enough, in order to illuminate also the larger sensor format of the GFX 50s fully. However, many other small image lenses have a picture circle that is larger than the actual small picture format and thus does not cause or only slight vignetting. In addition, many of the older, classic 35mm lenses are based on lens calculations of large and medium format lenses. Any vignetting which may occur can be used both in terms of design and in many cases by software.

The adapter for Nikon lenses has a mechanical aperture adjustment, with which also G-Nikkore can be steplessly dimmed and dimmed. A function transfer between the camera and the lens does not take place with any of the new adapter types.

Initial delivery is expected to begin early June. Prices will be announced in good time.

Further information and delivery notes from: Novoflex Präzisionstechnik GmbH, Brahmsstraße 7, 87700 Memmingen, phone: 0 83 31 8 88 88, mail: [email protected] or on the Internet at www.novoflex.de.

But what if you wanted an affordable, purpose built cinema lens for the X-mount system without using cheap, flimsy adapters?  Read More »
