FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO Ver.1.0 Installer for Macintosh Download Here

“FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO” is new RAW conversion software completely different from conventional RAW conversion software.

Once connecting a digital camera to a computer, “FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO” allows users to:

  • Convert RAW files in a short time just almost same duration as a camera takes a photo. And it does not depend on the performance of your computer as the FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO system utilizes the image processor in the camera instead of the CPU in the computer.
  • Get an image with retained exceptional image quality (tonality, color reproduction, noise reduction, and so on of the camera).

Photons to Photos: Fujifilm GFX 50S Loses Its PDR Throne To Sony a7RIII Pixel Shift Technology

IBIS technology is nothing new, but Sony is using it to beat up on Fujifilm in a new way, winning at dynamic range and maybe detail too. There are other cameras that utilize IBIS to increase resolution and dynamic range on the market, but none punch quite as high as the Sony a7RIII and Photons to Photos has the data to back it up here and here. You can also read the numbers below.

Camera Model ▾Maximum
PDR
Low Light
ISO
Low Light
EV
Sony ILCE-7RM3(PSMS)12.971585012.31
FujiFilm GFX 50S11.90785311.30
Sony ILCE-7RM311.65578710.85
Nikon D85011.634115110.36

Of course, the Sony a7RIII is more an answer to the Nikon D850 than an attack on the Fujifilm GFX 50S, but it does expose a weakness in Fujifilm’s current line up. The lack of designing for the implementation of IBIS could prevent Fujifilm cameras from utilizing features like pixel shift in the future, which could be performed more rapidly as camera technology improves. Currently, pixel shift technology is only useful for landscapes without motion and studio work where there is no motion for 60 seconds, but this will get better in future cameras.

I have discussed how Fujifilm could implement IBIS in a future camera before, but now I believe if they want to utilize a technology like this that their only option will be to move to a square sensor. the use of a square APS-C sensor should give Fujifilm the space inside the mount that they will need to implement IBIS technology as well as pixel shift in a future camera. The gains are definitely worth the R&D costs if you ask anyone that has used an IBIS camera before and with manual lenses becoming very popular again the technology is a huge benefit.

Fujifilm made big gains in 2017 and has been recognized on a lot of legitimate and not so legitimate click bait lists rounding out the year, but they can’t get complacent. I can’t wait to see what 2018 brings and I hope that all the competition out there continues to bring out the best from every camera company. Simply refreshing a camera doesn’t cut it anymore with so many great choices out there.

First Meike 85mm f/2.8 Macro Fujifilm Review

The Meike 85mm f/2.8 Macro looks like an impressive performer for the price. It’s a little on the large size and the dual focus rings might be a little confusing for some, but this lens will allow you to create macro images similar to Fujifilm’s new Fujinon XF 80mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR for a fraction of the price if you don’t mind manual focus.
