Fujifilm X-T3 Roundup: TCSTV Hands-On, First Splash Test, Sample Videos, and More

TCSTV was able to take home the Fujifilm X-T3 and they were pretty impressed, except for its battery performance, which we have pointed out before. They are also very obviously fans of IBIS, which is proving to be a contentious design decision for some. I personally would rather use good form and avoid any image quality issues that IBIS can introduce, but I can understand how some might need or want IBIS to obtain optimal image quality.

The Fujifilm X-T3 is the first camera from Fujifilm to really go after the market that the Panasonic GH5/Sony a7S cater too and at a significantly lower price point. Of course, this will only get better in the Fujifilm X-H2 with IBIS, but we will still probably be waiting another year for that camera to drop.

There is a lot of information to cover this weekend before the Fujifilm X-T3 ships if you still haven’t made up your mind, but beyond the battery, IBIS, and maybe a fully articulating screen the Fujifilm X-T3 looks to be almost a perfectly balanced camera, especially for its price point. These shortcomings might all be addressed in the Fujifilm X-H2 when it is released since it is a bigger camera, but it is likely we won’t see it for a while. The Fujifilm X-T3 is Fujifilm’s first camera of this generation and it’s a great package.
