Fujifilm is discounting the Fujifilm GFX100 down to GFX100S prices for those that prefer the bulkier more professional body of the GFX100. It’s an indication that Fujifilm will be replacing the high-end GFX soon, but since we haven’t spotted a new sensor the camera could just be a processor upgrade with improved autofocus for those that need/want better autofocus. Fujifilm has thrown quite a few curve balls since COVID and it will be interesting to see how the GFX system develops.

Fujinon XF 200mm f/2 OIS WR Round up

The Fujinon XF 200mm f/2 OIS WR has been around for a while now and Fujifilm has released quite a few new cameras and firmware updates so I decided to go looking for recent XF200mm reviews for a roundup. If you watch the video above and videos below the only shortcomings from this amazing lens come from it maybe being a little heavy with some mild focus breathing, beyond that, some would like AF to be better, but that is largely body based so the XF200 will only get better with time as Fujifilm improves their AF algorithm.

Why Fujifilm Survived (& Kodak Didn’t)

In short, the reason why Fujifilm is around today and Kodak is not is that Fujifilm diversified, while Kodak did not since they spun off successful subsidiaries instead of keeping them under the Kodak name.

Fujifilm GFX100S Firmware Bug Fixed

Fujifilm finally released firmware 2.01 for the Fujifilm GFX100S to fix the exposure composition bug that was first reported here.

Detail of the firmware update Ver.2.01
The firmware update Ver.2.01 from Ver.2.00 incorporates the following issue:
The firmware bug has been fixed that caused the exposure not to change even if you turn the “Command dial” while pressing the Fn1 button (Exposure compensation button), which occurs when the [EXPO. COMP] button setting is selected to [ON WHEN PRESSING].
