FUJIFILM Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yoshikazu Goto) will renew the instax ™ “Cheki” *1 series hybrid instant camera “instax mini LiPlay ™ ” (hereinafter “mini LiPlay”) and release it on July 19, 2024.
The “mini LiPlay”, which has been well received around the world, will be renewed with new colors (green, white, and bronze) to match the latest trends. While retaining the sound function that allows you to record voice messages and the smartphone printer function that allows you to print images from your smartphone, which are the features of “mini LiPlay”, we have improved usability by adopting USB Type-C for the charging terminal and making it possible to update the firmware via a dedicated app *2. Camera cases that match the new colors of the camera body will also be released at the same time.

Since its launch in 1998, the instant photo system instax ™ , affectionately known as “Cheki ™ ” in Japan , has kept up with the times, incorporating trends and evolving technologies, expanding its lineup to include hybrid instant cameras incorporating digital technology, smartphone printers, and palm-sized cameras in addition to analog instant cameras. instax ™ offers a variety of ways to enjoy photography, and is expanding its user base to include not only young women, but also men and middle-aged people.
The “mini LiPlay,” released in 2019, is a Cheki that also records “sound,” and has been well received by many people for its functionality and design. It is a hybrid instant camera that is compatible with card-sized “mini format film,” and you can take pictures while looking at the monitor on the back of the camera, and select and print your favorite images. The “mini LiPlay” is characterized by its “sound function,” which allows you to record up to 10 seconds of sound using the recording function, turn that sound data into a QR code, and print it together with the captured image .
This time, Fujifilm is relaunching the “mini LiPlay” with new colors that match the latest trends. While maintaining the same functionality, operability, and compactness, the device is available in three colors that will make you want to carry it around as a fashion accessory, and each color has a different texture. The body colors are an eye-catching, globally trendy green, a neutral white that matches any item, and a unisex, calming bronze.
In addition, the charging terminal is USB Type-C. Firmware updates, which previously required downloading firmware from a website and saving it to a microSD card, can now be easily performed by simply connecting the dedicated app to the mini LiPlay, further improving ease of use.
Firmware updates are possible simply by connecting the device to the dedicated app.
Like the conventional “mini LiPlay,” the camera body comes with 13 design frames and 6 filters, and the dedicated app comes with over 60 design frames. You can take photos with effects added to the images using frames and filters.
