Fujiguys Live Blog After The X Summit Event Starts Now

Earlier today we had a lot of interesting products launched during the X Summit. Now the Fujiguys are taking over with their live post-show so stay tuned for any interesting developments.

Live Blog:

  • 10 years of X mount lead to the 5th generation X-trans sensor and processor
  • Been calling the X-H2S the speed camera for anything that’s moving in photos or video
  • The Stacked sensor helps with everything and getting ride of rolling shutter
  • AF is extra sticky now
  • 5th generation sensor is twice as fast as 4th generation
  • AI AF will blow you away
  • The AI only needs a birds head to know what it is tracking
  • You can shoot 6.2k videos and just film the still
  • X-H2S is in line with the Sony A1 and Nikon Z9, but it is smaller and lighter with more battery power
  • APS-C is a great balance between size, weight, quality
  • X-H2S IBIS technology can replace a gimbal
  • Very high resolution through the EVF and it is crystal clear so it should make DSLR fans happy
  • CFExpress is a great addition that allows for 720mbps compression
  • Files have lots of latitude and dynamic range of 14+ stops
  • ProRes RAW is new to X-Trans
  • X-H2S has almost everything you would want for video
  • Image quality isn’t just about pixel count
  • Too much isolation can be a bad thing, especially for video
  • APS-C is ideal for filming
  • When X mount launched video quality was quite poor
  • Fujinon has always been in the cinema world but now they have a truly great camera for cinema
  • X-H2S has two grips the standard and networking grip that allows you to transfer files instantaneously
  • X-H2S also has an accessory fan that integrates with the camera and is powered by the camera which is useful in hot conditions plus it is weather-resistant
  • You can tune how the fan works yourself to maximize performance
  • The fan is unnecessary for stills
  • The X-H2S can be used to shoot events like the Olympics
  • The X-H2S can be a 4k live stream camera
  • Now they are showing clips
  • X-Trans provides superior noise performance
  • Fujifilm video has a pleasing mood to the footage
  • 4k 120p adds a lot to production value
  • X-H2S has a great dynamic range and color
  • 4k 120p is clean
  • Smooth exposure adjustment
  • Pair of X-H2 cameras which is a first from Fujifilm (I really hope X-H2 isn’t PSAM!)
  • The new lenses are being launched largely for the 40MP sensor that is coming
  • Hopefully the 40MP sensor will maintain the noise performance of the 26MP sensor
