See Fujifilm X-H1 IBIS in Action and Newest Fuji X-H1 Launch Videos

The above video very clearly shows the Fujifilm X-H1 IBIS system working and it makes me wonder how Fujifilm is compensating for the sensor clearly going slightly behind the edge of the mount (look at the corners). Other mounts were designed to be much larger for IBIS, but X-Mount was not. They have to have some kind of digital vignetting correction happening behind the scenes. I wrote a little about how they could deal with it here, but it would explain why it is currently widely believed that the Fujifilm X-T3 will not have IBIS.

Below Fujifilm continues their proud of campaign with Markus Klinko and Koala. There is also some new slow-motion footage and coverage by PGN. I am sure Fujifilm will keep this content coming leading up to the release of the Fujifilm X-H1 so there should be a lot of photographers releasing X-H1 projects too in the coming weeks.

Lightroom and Picktorial Support Fujifilm X-H1

Picktorial and Lightroom support the Fujifilm X-H1 on launch with Lightroom also adding ETERNA simulation support at launch too. Adobe included support in their 7.2 update a few days ago.

First Fujifilm X-T2 vs Fujifilm X-H1 Video Comparison and Live Blog Highlights

Maarten Heilbron was first to compare the Fujifilm X-H1 vs Fujifilm X-T2 in depth and his video goes into quite a bit of functional detail. The Live Blog is still ongoing, but content releases have dramatically slowed. If you simply must know everything about the Fujifilm X-H1 than dig through all the details in our live blog, but if it is a bit too much for you I will be breaking it all down over the coming days.

Bellow, you can see some of the best videos showing the performance of the Fuji X-H1. The Fujifilm X-H1 seems to have very impressive IBIS even when mounted on a gimbal, which can sometimes confuse IBIS systems. The Fujifilm X-H1 looks like it might eve rival the Panasonic GH5, which even Sony hasn’t managed with their IBIS system.

Fujifilm X-H1: Popular Competitor Camera Size Comparison

Camerasize.com has the Fujifilm X-H1 in their system now and it’s kind of interesting to see how it compares to other cameras in its class. The Nikon D500 and Canon 7D Mark II are significantly larger cameras and don’t offer nearly as many features as the Fujifilm X-H1. While the Panasonic GH5S is actually a bit large compared to the X-H1 even though it has a smaller sensor and the Sony a7RIII is maybe even a little small compared to the Fuji X-H1. The only camera out of the bunch that truly rivals the size of the Fujifilm X-H1, without fully matching its features is the Sony a6500 and it makes you have to question what Sony could do if they decided to make a professional APS-C camera.

Size alone is a very good reason for photographers to leave Canon and Nikon, but today’s mirrorless cameras offer a lot of features that DSLR’s simply can’t match. Fujifilm started to gain a lead with the introduction of the Fujifilm X-T2 and has now cemented that lead with the introduction fo the new Fujifilm X-H1. Now the waiting begins to see what the Fujifilm X-T3 will bring at Photokina this year.

Some Thoughts
The Kodachrome look of ETERNA is making me seriously consider selling my Fujifilm X-T2 for the Fujifilm X-H1. I didn’t think I would like the look of it this much and I really hope it gets added to the Fujifilm X-T2 soon via a firmware update. I guess I can always grab a Fuji X-H1 for testing and if I really like it I will have to sell my X-T2 to justify the purchase. Maybe Adobe will grace us with ETERNA before Fujifilm does or a hacker…

HDR isn’t the most popular tool in a photographers toolkit, but sometimes you need it to produce something incredible.
