Fujifilm X-T3 Sensor Details Released by Sony

Sony updated their CMOS Image Sensors for Consumer Cameras and it now includes the 26mp BSI Fujifilm X-T3 sensor the IMX571. You might be able to find some additional details through Sony’s semiconductor page, but this update also makes me wonder about other APS-C cameras that might be coming out in the near future. The IMX271 could be used in a camera like the Sony a7000 and the new MFT sensors could be used in future Olympus/Panasonic bodies.

The page also shows the new Fujifilm GFX100S sensor the IMX461, which has a pixel pitch that matches the Fujifilm X-T3 now.

Net SE The Company Behind Meyer Optik Görlitz is Insolvent

Photoscala is reporting that Net SE The Company Behind Meyer Optik Görlitz is insolvent, which is very bad news for people that financed their kickstarters and Indiegogos.

“On October 1, 2018, the insolvency proceedings have been opened on the assets of the company. Thus, it is also clear: lenses pre-financed by crowdfunding will no longer come and be delivered, and the money paid in will be lost.”

We previously reported in August that there was a good chance many Meyer Optik Görlitz lenses wouldn’t ship and now it looks like getting your money back will be next to impossible if you did not get your lens yet. B&H Photo still has some lenses that were actually produced, but don’t count on receiving anything from Kickstarter or Indiegogo.

As of this moment, Meyer Optik Görlitz’s website does not have details about the bankruptcy.

Photons to Photos: New Fujifilm X-T100 PDR Results vs Fujifilm X-T2/X-T3

Photons to Photos just released their Fujifilm X-T100 results and the camera performs slightly worse than the Fujifilm X-T2/X-T3, but it’s results are still respectable. The Fujifilm X-T100 is a camera priced to sell well and it’s good to see that its performance isn’t that far behind more expensive options. You can manipulate the results here if you like.

Fujifilm’s Partnership With Panasonic to Create an Organic Sensor is Looking Promising

Personal view interviewed Panasonic about m43 and L-mount. During the interview, Panasonic’s partnership with Fujifilm came up and they are making progress.

“since its initial announcement in 2016, there is a continuous cooperation between Panasonic and FujiFilm in development of the organic sensor technology. The recent results are very promising. The mass production of this kind of sensor, however, will take a little bit more time, and today I cannot say when we can use this kind of a sensor.”

“If we can increase the relative ratio of the photodiode relative to two other parts, this will make sensor more efficient and also result in the better image quality. The reason why an organic photoconductive film makes better efficiency is because this allows to maximize the light reception area and more angle of the incident light. The organic sensor has less deflection. This means that the organic sensor can get more efficiency/sensitivity. This theoretically could make the organic film sensor better.”

Organic Sensor technology is sounding promising and I hope we hear more soon.
