New Fujinon XF50mm f/1 R WR Images

There haven’t been many new details about the Fujinon XF50mm f/1 R WR, but it was talked about briefly at the 2020 X-Summit in London, which you can find here. Fujifilm confirmed the Fujinon XF50mm f/1 R WR would come this year and they had a working sample at the X-Summit that currently works with CDAF and they are working on PDAF. It has a 77mm front filter thread and it will be the world’s fastest production AF lens when it is released. They also told us 3 more lenses would be coming for X mount this year.

Ver.1.8.1
The software update Ver.1.8.1 incorporates the following issue:

The compatibility with macOS 10.15.2 is added.
The phenomenon with macOS 10.15.2 is fixed that the connection between the application and a camera cannot be established or it doesn’t recognize a camera. Upgrade the macOS to the latest version (macOS 10.15.3 or newer).

*When FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO starts first time with the macOS 10.15.3 or newer, the dialog below to encourage the access to “Photos” will appear. Click the “OK” to accept the access. Otherwise, Mac cannot be connected with a camera.
*In case X RAW STUDIO starts with a camera connected, a dialog below to encourage the access to “Removable volume”, “Documents folder” and so on can appear. Click the “OK” to accept the access. Otherwise, Mac cannot be connected with a camera.

New Fujifilm X-T4 NP-W235 Battery Registered

Controversy: Fujifilm Removes X100V Marketing Video Due to Criticism of Street Shooting Style/Photos

The launch of the Fujifilm X100V went well yesterday with at the X Summit, but after the event concluded we covered the launch of the X100V in a traditional way with a mix of links to independent reviewers and Fujifilm promotional material. Apparently that aspect of the X100V launch did not go as smoothly as expected with Fujifilm issuing an official apology which you can read below.

The apology below is for a video “My Milestone” -Tatsuo Suzuki which Fujifilm tried to wipe from the internet because some complained about it making the X100V seem like a camera for voyeurs, while others went further and voiced their disgust or even fear of the photographer’s style. The comments haven’t been one-sided though as many were furious that Fujifilm removed the video and brought up photographers like Bruce Gideon that have very in your face style. Different regions of the world also had very different reactions.

I have to say I am disappointed in Fujifilm for not standing behind the street photography community. There are many ways to shoot street and many of the best have had to suffer a punch in the face or nasty words to capture the moment and any camera that makes this kind of battery/assault less likely to happen should be a welcome one.

Fujifilm Donates 110 Million Yen in Equipment to Help Fight Coronavirus

I would like to express my sincere condolences to those affected by the new coronavirus in Wuhan, China.

Fujifilm Holdings Co., Ltd. (President: Kenji Sukeno) has been working with Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. to provide support for new coronavirus countermeasures in China. We will donate equipment and supplies worth about RMB 7 million (approximately 110 million yen in Japanese yen), such as printers that can be used at medical sites. In addition, as usual, in addition to responding to customer inquiries 24 hours a day, we will also provide quick medical equipment installation and maintenance services.

We will continue to support medical sites in Wuhan and other regions in China, and support those affected by the entire Fujifilm Group.
