Fujifilm Released A Statement About Ethical Wildlife Photography

Fujifilm released a statement about ethical bird photography that I found on weibo. I ran it through an image translator and it did an ok job of explaining Fujifilm’s position, but I think the AI translation below better represents Fujifilm’s statement.

Recently, Fujifilm has noticed that content and disputes related to “bird photography using bait” have appeared on social media platforms. In response, Fujifilm (China) makes the following statement:

  1. Fujifilm has always been committed to promoting responsible wildlife photography and firmly opposes any photography activities that violate wildlife protection and anti-poaching laws or infringe upon the rights and interests of wildlife.
  2. The company solemnly declares:
    • It firmly opposes any form of unlawful captivity or commercial exploitation of wildlife;
    • It explicitly condemns the use of baiting methods to photograph wildlife;
    • It calls on all photographers to respect and abide by relevant laws and regulations while cherishing and protecting wildlife.
  3. Effective immediately, the following measures will be implemented:
    • A comprehensive review of relevant activities involving regional distributors;
    • Enhanced training and education for distributors on laws, regulations, and ethical principles regarding wildlife protection;
    • A prohibition on the promotion or publication of any wildlife photography content obtained through illegal or improper means.
  4. Fujifilm will continue to promote eco-friendly photography practices, encouraging photographers and users to:
    • Conduct wildlife observations and photography in natural, non-intrusive settings;
    • Maintain a safe distance to avoid disrupting the normal lives of wildlife;
    • Follow the “Code of Ethics for Nature Photography.”

Fujifilm looks forward to working together with bird enthusiasts, photographers, and other wildlife lovers to protect wildlife, make the lens a recorder of nature’s beauty, and serve as an important tool for promoting ecological awareness.

Built-In FUSION Technology
Sometimes you need more than a simple adapter to mount a lens onto a camera – you need real power. Seize control over the electronic features of your lenses with a FUSION lens adapter. This adapter enables EXIF and aperture data to be transmitted to and controlled by the camera. Different lenses may exhibit different operating characteristics depending on lens age and manufacturer. We recommend testing individual lenses in your setup before critical shoots.

Fotodiox’s Fusion line of adapters now include a micro USB port to allow for firmware updates providing a nearly future proof solution for users by including new lenses and fixing possible bugs through firmware updates.

To be notified for firmware upgrades, utilize the contact form below.

Restores Automated Functions
The FUSION technology built into the adapter enables electronic communication between mixed lens and camera platforms. This FUSION adapter enable aperture control and more. Although the adapter will allow you to mount any Mamiya6 lens, not all lenses will perform the same. Lens age and condition of lens will all affect the speed, reliability and accuracy of the adapter.

When switching lenses, use the function button to get calibrate the adapter to the lens for correct aperture EXIF Data. Set the Mamiya 6 lens to f/8, install the lens on the FUSION adapter and then press the button to ‘FN’ button calibrate. When the lens shutter is closed, the adapter will beep to let you know, simply turn the blue ring on the adapter to open the lens shutter back up.
