Fujifilm Co., Ltd. (President: Kenji Sukeno) has announced a new type of environmental cleaning material “Hydro Ag + (Hydro AG Plus) Alcohol Cloth / Spray (80%)” that has a long-lasting sterilizing effect due to our unique antibacterial technology. We are pleased to inform you that in the evaluation test to confirm the effect on coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), we obtained the result that 99% or more of the virus was inactivated * 1 . This evaluation was carried out as part of joint research with Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine. By continuously cleaning the environment with “Hydro Ag + alcohol cloth / spray (80%)”, the infection control effect of SARS-CoV-2 can be expected.
About “Hydro Ag + Alcohol Cloth / Spray (80%)”
The unique antibacterial technology “Hydro Ag + ” stably disperses a silver-based antibacterial agent and a superhydrophilic polymer that cures at room temperature in an alcohol solution. When this product is used, the object is sterilized with alcohol, and a super-hydrophilic coating layer containing a silver-based antibacterial agent is formed on the surface of the object, and the sterilization effect continues even after the alcohol evaporates.
This product is used by many people in medical and long-term care settings and as an environmental cleaning application in general households.
[Outline and results of evaluation test]
Prepare 3 types of test films with “Hydro Ag + alcohol cloth / spray (80%)” applied 20 times, 40 times, 60 times * 2 , respectively , and perform the following evaluation 20 days after application. did.
The SARS-CoV-2 solution is dropped on the surface of the test film coated with the solution, and the unprocessed film is put on it to bring it into close contact, and the mixture is allowed to stand at room temperature for 24 hours. After that, the SARS-CoV-2 solution was collected and the virus titer (Rikika) * 3 , which is an index of the amount of virus with infectivity, was calculated. The virus titers of SARS-CoV-2 solution * 4 dropped on the test film and SARS-CoV-2 solution dropped on the test film for 24 hours at room temperature were compared, and “Hydro Ag + alcohol cloth / We evaluated the virus inactivation of the test film coated with the “spray (80%)” solution.

The test film to which the liquid agent was applied 40 times and 60 times showed 99% or more virus inactivation 20 days after the application. In addition, even in the test film to which the liquid agent was applied 20 times, 86% or more of virus inactivation was observed 20 days after the application. (table 1)

After 10 days, 86% or more of the virus inactivating effect will begin to appear, and after 20 days, 99% or more of the virus can be expected to be inactivated.
