Accurate Fujinon GF 35-70mm f/4.5-5.6 WR Size Comparison

Based on the dimensions Nokishita leaked I made an accurate mock-up of the Fujinon GF 35-70mm F4.5-5.6 WR compared to the Fujinon GF 32-64mm f/4 R LM WR and it looks like a quite compact lens that might be worth picking up for under a grand. It is accurate in the closed and fully extended position above and even fully extended it looks quite small compared to the Fujinon 32-64mm.

Fujinon “GF35-70mm F4.5-5.6 WR” has 11 elements in 9 groups (1 aspherical lens, 2 ED lenses)
minimum 35cm, maximum 0.28x
filter 62mm
size φ84.9mm x 73.9mm (Collapsed) / 96.4 It seems to be mm (Wide) /95.7mm (Telephoto)
weigh 390g.

First Fujifilm X-T30II Spec Comparison! X-T30II vs X-T30 vs a6600

The Fujifilm X-T30II isn’t much of an improvement over the X-T30, but it looks like Fujifilm tweaked some thermal characteristics about the body to allow it to perform more like an X-T4. The body is also a little lighter and the battery will last a little longer, but I have a feeling this compromise might be the product of chip shortages. Fujifilm might have an easier time getting the parts for the X-T30II than the original X-T30 design. The marketing doesn’t do much to dispel my opinion that this is a stop-gap camera. The Fujifilm X-T30II is just a little more than a glorified firmware update, but just barely.

First Fujifilm GFX50SII Spec Comparison! GFX50SII vs GFX50S vs GFX50R vs GFX100S vs GFX100

It looks like the Fujifilm GFX50SII is exactly as expected making the 50MP medium format 44×33 sensor more in line with the current GFX lineup in a GFX100S body with IBIS and it should attract a lot of new photographers to GFX, but when I look at the current lineup I seriously wonder if the GFX50R might drop down to $2,999 or even $2,500.

Further, I really do not like how Fujifilm is doing away with its traditional exposure triangle setup that made them popular. The Fujifilm GFX50S body is still by far my favorite GFX body and I hope we continue to see it, without the bulge, because I kind of hate the GFX100S body and the GFX100 body is only marginally better.

It’s disappointing to me that Fujifilm caved on PSAM in an attempt to get photographers to switch from other systems. Leica and Fujifilm are the only two cameras companies that do exposure triangles right in my opinion and Fujifilm is slowly driving me back into Leica’s arms with the release of another PSAM camera.
