TOKYO, September 2, 2021 – FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Teiichi Goto) is pleased to announce the launch of the “FUJINON Lens GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR” (GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR) in November 2021. It will be a new addition to the lineup of interchangeable GF lenses designed for GFX Series of mirrorless digital cameras, incorporating the large-format sensor*1, approximately 1.7 times larger than a full-frame 35mm sensor.

The GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR covers the most frequently-used focal length range from 35mm in wide angle to the standard 70mm (equivalent to 28mm-55mm in the 35mm format), producing premium-quality images in a wide variety of situations. It is the most compact and lightest in the GF zoom lenses to provide excellent portability. The highly portable form factor will broaden the scope of applications for GFX camera systems, including the FUJIFILM GFX50S II mirrorless digital camera announced today.

The new GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR lens has a focal length range from 35mm to 70mm (equivalent to 28mm-55mm in the 35mm format) and high resolution capabilities despite being the most compact and lightest in the GF zoom lenses, weighing approximately 390g and measuring 96.4mm (wide-angle end). The retractable barrel structure, which stores the lens barrel compactly, reduces the length to 73.9mm when fully collapsed for added portability. It would reduce the physical burden even when used as a walkaround lens, enabling casual hand-held shooting for snapshots, landscape photography and portraits. The lens can also take a close-up shot of a subject approximately 25cm from the front-most of the lens to accommodate a broad range of shooting situations such as photography of a meal on a table. The fast, silent and highly-accurate AF system attains focus on a targeted subject smoothly to capture every photo opportunity. The lens has a dust- and moisture-resistant structure and can operate at temperatures as low as -10°C, which enables users to continue shooting in light rain or dusty place.

Today, Fujifilm has unveiled the updated development roadmap for GF lenses*2, offering basic specifications for lenses to be added to the lineup including an ultra-wide-angle zoom, a large-diameter standard prime lens and a tilt & shift lens. With the 17-lens lineup presented in the roadmap that covers a wide shooting range, Fujifilm will continue to offer the joy of photography using the GFX Series.

1. Product features
(1) Advanced versatility that covers most frequently-used focal lengths to deliver superior-quality images in a wide variety of situations

  • The GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR covers most frequently-used focal lengths from 35mm in wide angle to the standard 70mm (equivalent to 28mm-55mm in the 35mm format) to cater to a wide range of situations including snapshots, landscape and portraits.
  • It enables a close-up shot of a subject approximately 25cm from the front-most of the lens. It takes advantage of the wide-angle framing of capturing the main subject in close-up against a broad spread of the background, as well as the standard angle of view that offers a natural perspective.
  • The GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR consists of 11 elements, including one aspherical element and two ED elements, in nine groups to control spherical and chromatic aberrations well for high resolution capabilities. The design provides a precise description of a tiny subject in the background, even when it is shot on the wide-angle side.

(2) The most compact and lightest zoom lens in the GF zoom lenses

  • The GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR is optically designed to balance image quality with portability to achieve the most compact and lightest in the GF zoom lenses, weighing approximately 390g and measuring 96.4mm (wide-angle end) with the filter thread size of 62mm. The retractable barrel structure, which stores the lens barrel compactly, reduces the length to 73.9mm when fully collapsed for added portability. Even when mounted on the FUJIFILM GFX50S II or FUJIFILM GFX100S, the combined weight comes to less than 1,300g, reducing the physical burden even when used as a walkaround lens to accommodate a casual shooting style.

(3) Fast, silent and highly-accurate AF and robust design for advanced mobility

  • The lens uses the Inner Focus system, in which compact and lightweight focusing elements are driven with a stepping motor. When combined with FUJIFILM GFX100S’s phase detection AF, the lens can autofocus in as fast as 0.13 seconds*3, ensuring to capture the main subject. The lens also supports digital cameras’ Face / Eye Detection AF modes, capturing a momentary change in facial expressions, which makes it perfect choice for portraits that involves subject movements.
  • The low operation noise during focusing makes it suitable not only for stills but also for video recording.
  • The lens is weather-sealed at nine locations, making it dust- and moisture-resistant and capable of operating at temperatures as low as -10°C. It enables users to capture a decisive moment even in harsh conditions with light rain or dust.

2. Support information
The GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR features a manual retractable barrel structure. Before shooting, manually rotate the zoom ring to extend the barrel to the wide-angle 35mm position.

TOKYO, September 2, 2021 – FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Teiichi Goto) is pleased to announce that the “FUJIFILM GFX50S II” (GFX50S II) will be released in late September 2021 as the latest addition to the GFX Series of mirrorless digital cameras incorporating the large-format sensor*1 approximately 1.7 times larger than a 35mm full-frame sensor. The GFX50S II is equipped with the 51.4MP image sensor and the powerful in-body image stabilization (IBIS) mechanism in a compact and lightweight body weighing approximately 900g*2. Its high-performance AF, based on the use of a high-speed image processing engine, gives the camera a excellent mobility.

The GFX50S II is a mirrorless digital camera that allows more people to enjoy the photographic world of ultra-high image quality, achieved by the large-format sensor’s rich tonality and ability to render the background out of focus beautifully.

Fujifilm released the FUJIFILM GFX 50S in 2017 as the first model in the GFX Series of mirrorless digital cameras and has since expanded the lineup to pioneer a market for mirrorless digital cameras using a image sensor larger than a 35mm full-frame sensor. The GFX Series has won high acclaim for its image quality and mobility from professional photographers and photography enthusiasts.

The latest GFX50S II, to be released this time, is a mirrorless digital camera equipped with the 51.4MP sensor in a compact and lightweight body weighing approximately 900g. It has a larger light-receiving area per pixel than digital cameras*3 with the 35mm full-frame sensor, producing rich tonality and clear images with minimal noise even in low-light conditions. Combination of its high resolution capabilities of capturing the finest detail and beautiful bokeh achieved with the ability to deliver a shallow depth of field creates three-dimensional definitions of the subject. The camera has a powerful five-axis IBIS mechanism that provides up to 6.5 stops*4 of anti-shake advantage to compensate for camera shake during hand-held shooting and minimize motion blur in low light or in settings where a tripod cannot be used. The use of the high-speed image processing engine “X-Processor 4” and the latest algorithm adds extra performance to AF, attaining focus on the subject quickly and accurately.

The GFX50S II is a mirrorless digital camera of excellent mobility with an image sensor larger than a 35mm full-frame sensor, rewriting the previous standards for digital cameras. When mounted with a compact and lightweight kit lens “FUJINON Lens GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR, the camera produces superior-quality images in a broad range of shooting situations.

1. Product features
(1) Superior image quality delivered with the use of a 51.4MP large-format sensor

  • GFX50S II is a mirrorless digital camera equipped with a 51.4MP large-format sensor. It has a larger light-receiving area per pixel than digital cameras with the 35mm full-frame sensor, achieving wide dynamic range and high signal-to-noise ratio. This controls highlight and shadow clipping for rich tonality and delivers clear images with minimal noise to capture the main subject’s texture and even the atmosphere of the scene.
  • The camera uses a unique design based on smaller light micro lenses on the sensor, boosting light resolution per pixel for added image sharpness. When combined with a FUJINON GF lens that can maximize the sensor’s performance, the camera can capture details of the subject.
  • The ability of the large-format sensor to produce a very shallow depth of field renders background out of focus beautifully, adding three-dimensional definitions to the subject as the photographer intended.

(2) Featuring 19 Film Simulation modes for diverse color presentation

  • The GFX50S II comes with 19 Film Simulation modes, including “Nostalgic Neg.,” characterized by high saturation and soft tonality. Film Simulation presets, designed for various subject types and scenes, can be used as if choosing between rolls of different photographic films, while checking how they affect the final image in live view, thereby reducing editing workload after a photo shoot.

(3) Compact and lightweight body for advanced mobility

  • The use of the compact IBIS mechanism and shutter unit has been combined with optimized layout of various devices to achieve a compact and lightweight body, weighing approximately 900g and measuring 104.2mm in height and 87.2mm in depth.
  • The grip has been shaped so that the camera sits comfortably in the hand, ensuring comfort by significantly reducing hand strain when using a large zoom lens.
  • The casing is made of highly rigid magnesium alloy. Added thickness around the base of the lens mount, which is subject to greater load in particular, has made the camera body highly robust. The GFX50S II is also weather-sealed at 60 locations to offer dust- and moisture-resistance and ability to operate in temperatures as low as -10℃ for exceptional ruggedized performance, expanding the world of superior-quality images.

(4) Five-axis IBIS mechanism that offers up to 6.5-stops to assist hand-held shooting

  • The GFX50S II features a powerful five-axis IBIS mechanism that provides up to 6.5 stops of advantage, based on the use of high-performance gyro sensor and accelerometer. This facilitates hand-held shooting in low light or in settings where a tripod cannot be used, making it easy to take pictures with minimal camera shake.

(5) High-performance AF that attains accurate focus quickly

  • The GFX50S II delivers high-performance AF thanks to the high-speed image processing engine “X-Processor 4” and the latest algorithm. This is coupled with the powerful IBIS mechanism to ensure that the focus is attained quickly and accurately in a wide variety of situations.
  • The camera’s refresh rate is twice as fast as the previous model*5 to boost the accuracy of the Face / Eye Detection AF. The camera’s large-format sensor requires advanced focus accuracy due to its shallow depth of field, but the AF system can capture a split-second photographic expression of the main subject, assisting users greatly when shooting portraits with movement.

(6) Easy operability for a smooth shooting experience

  • The top panel features the Mode dial, typically seen in many digital cameras, so that even the first-time users of the GFX Series can handle the camera easily. The dial offers six customizable positions C1 – C6, allowing users to register their choice of functions to each of the positions and activate them quickly for a smooth photo shoot.
  • There is a selector on the top panel to instantly switch between the still and video modes for added convenience.
  • The use of a flat-shaped Focus Lever reduces physical discomfort even after extended use. It responds with enhanced sensitivity when moving the focus point, allowing users to attain focus at the intended location quickly.
  • The 1.8-inch sub LCD monitor with excellent visibility is found on the top panel, displaying key EXIF settings such as shutter speed, aperture, ISO sensitivity and exposure. Additional information displayed includes the number of frames remaining when shooting stills and the filming duration when recording video. The display can be customized for added convenience.
  • On the rear panel is a 3.2-inch main LCD monitor with 100% coverage. It can tilt in three directions to enable high- and low-angle shooting, for which the electronic viewfinder (EVF) cannot be easily used.

(7) Featuring the Pixel Shift Multi-Shot function, perfect for digital archiving

  • The GFX50S II features the Pixel Shift Multi-Shot function, which enables 4x resolution and accurate color reproduction. This is a perfect choice for digital archiving, as the function enables reproduction of colors and textures for cultural assets such as artworks and historical artifacts in superior definition of 200MP images.

TOKYO, September 2, 2021 – FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Teiichi Goto) is pleased to announce that it will gradually launch the “FUJIFILM X-T30 II” (X-T30 II) in late September 2021. It is a new addition to the X Series of mirrorless digital cameras known for their compact, lightweight body and superior image quality based on the company’s proprietary color reproduction technology.

The X-T30 II renewed the software while inheriting the compact and lightweight camera body, popular with the mirrorless digital camera “FUJIFILM X-T30” (the previous model), and delivers an advanced level of AF speed and precision and image quality equivalent to the X Series’ flagship model, “FUJIFILM X-T4” (X-T4). The X-T30 II has also evolved from the previous model in terms of hardware, as seen in the use of a high-resolution 1.62-million-dot LCD monitor on the rear panel. It enables comfortable shooting of high-quality stills as well as full-scale 4K/30p video.

The X-T30 II is a mirrorless digital camera that features a 26.1MP “X-Trans™ CMOS 4” *1 sensor and a high-speed “X-Processor 4” image-processing engine in a compact and lightweight body that weighs approximately 378g*2 to produce premium-quality images. The camera offers a fast and accurate AF system that has the focusing speed as fast as 0.02 seconds and also boasts exceptional ability to track a moving subject. It can autofocus even in near darkness conditions at -7.0EV*3 to accurately capture a subject in nightscape photography or indoor photography with low light.

The X-T30 II comes with a total of 18 Film Simulation modes, including “Classic Neg,” ideal for snapshots, and the low-saturation and high-contrast “ETERNA Bleach Bypass,” which produces impressive atmosphere. The expanded lineup allows users to enjoy a diverse range of color reproduction styles. The algorithm for “AUTO” mode has been updated to easily produce beautiful pictures by automatically identifying the type of shooting scenes and applying the optimum shooting settings.

Furthermore, the camera features functions that deliver smooth 4K/30p video with rich tonality as well as high-speed full-HD video at 240p, and is fitted with a high-resolution 1.62-million-dot three-inch tilting touchscreen LCD monitor, helping users capture stills and videos alike with ease.

Fujifilm will continue to deliver the wonder and joy of photography with the X Series including the new X-T30 II, GFX Series of large-format sensor cameras and an extensive lineup of interchangeable lenses that now added the new large-diameter wide-angle prime lens “FUJINON Lens XF23mmF1.4 R LM WR” and the large-diameter standard prime lens “FUJINON Lens XF33mmF1.4 R LM WR,” both announced today.

1. Product features
(1) Fast and highly accurate AF that attains focus in as fast as 0.02 seconds to capture a decisive photo opportunity

  • The X-T30 II is equipped with the 26.1MP “X-Trans™ CMOS 4” sensor and the high-speed image processing engine “X-Processor 4” to enable fast and accurate AF of up to 0.02 seconds, equivalent to the AF speed of the X Series’ flagship model “X-T4.” Phase detection pixels are placed across the sensor surface (approx. 100% coverage) to attain focus accurately even on a subject away from the center of the frame, ensuring to capture a decisive photo opportunity.
  • The AF system uses the latest algorithm to achieve improved AF ability for tracking a moving subject compared to the previous model. It can precisely track a subject that is moving toward and even moving away from the camera. Its Face / Eye AF function keeps a subject’s face / eyes in focus even in portrait photography that involves subject movements, making portraiture easy.
  • The camera can also autofocus accurately in near darkness conditions at -7.0EV, enabling nightscape photography or indoor photography with low light.
  • The camera delivers blackout-free burst shooting*4 at up to 8fps in the mechanical shutter mode and up to 30fps in the electronic shutter mode.
  • *4 High-speed continuous shooting free from blackout, in which the viewfinder blacks out, causing the photographer to lose sight of a photo subject. This is only available when the camera is in the electronic shutter mode.

(2) Fujifilm’s unique Film Simulation modes and evolved AUTO function to deliver exceptional image quality

  • The X-T30 II comes with a total of 18 Film Simulation modes including “Classic Neg,” based on color negative films typically used in snapshots, and “ETERNA Bleach Bypass,” which faithfully simulates the film processing technique of bleach bypass. The expanded lineup allows users to enjoy a diverse range of color reproduction styles, as if choosing a different photo film that suits each situation.
  • The algorithm has been updated for “AUTO” mode, which determines the type of a shooting scene based on information such as the presence of persons, colors and brightness and automatically adjusts shooting settings accordingly, and the “SP (Scene Position)” mode, which allows users to choose shooting settings based on the type of a scene. The Color Chrome Effect (blue), Clarity, D Range and other settings can be automatically adjusted to make it easy to produce clear and vivid landscape photographs or portraiture that makes the main subject stand out. Even in back-lit situations, the camera can deliver premium-quality images with minimal highlight- and shadow-clippings.

(3) Extensive video-recording functions

  • The X-T30 II uses the amount of data equivalent to 6K to generate 4K video to assure high resolution with minimal noise. The camera can output 4K/30P video at 8 bit 4:2:0 onto an SD card, and 4K/30P video at 10 bit 4:2:2 to HDMI.
  • Furthermore, it now supports full-HD 240P high-speed video, capable of replaying a momentary action of a fast-moving subject in slow motion in up to 10x.

(4) Excellent operability for comfortable shooting

  • The camera features the Shutter Speed Dial on the top panel to enable fully manual shooting. The dial allows users to check a current setting visually, so that they can prepare for the next shots even while the camera is turned off. The Auto Mode Selector lever is also provided for a quick activation of the AUTO mode for added operability.
  • On the rear panel is a high-resolution 1.62-million-dot tilting 3-inch touchscreen monitor, which provides clear live-view images for checking a photo subject, making it easier than ever to shoot stills and videos.
