Fujifilm Wonder Photo Shop Website: Save Up To 50% Off Prints and More

Fujifilm closed the Wonder Photo Shop last year and moved to an online model a month after the announcement with a 20% off sale. So I am not sure if the current sale reflects a holiday promotion or if the Wonder PhotoShop online isn’t doing well especially since Fujifilm really doesn’t promote the site. Either way, you can benefit from the substantial discounts that can be up to 50% off currently available from https://shop.wonderphotoshopnyc.com/.

PB: Fujinon GF35-70mm F4.5-5.6 WR Review – A No-Brainer For Newcomers and GFX Owners

Photography Blog Posted its review of the Fujinon GF35-70mm F4.5-5.6 WR and it’s a very low compromise lens for a very reasonable price especially bundled with the GFX50S II. You can read the full review here or read some excerpts below:

This is a brilliantly compact, lightweight zoom lens for Fuji’s ever-expanding medium-format system at an amazingly low price-point, especially if you buy one bundled with the equally new GFX 50S II camera body.

The GF 35-70mm is a sharp lens in the centre throughout the zoom and aperture range, although you need to stop down to get similar sharpness at the edges of the frame.

It exhibits almost no chromatic aberrations, has negligible distortion at either end of its range and is capable of producing nice bokeh, despite only having an f/4.5 maximum aperture.

Vignetting at wide-open apertures is the only real optical issue of note, although it’s easy enough to remove in post-processing. Alternatively stopping down the aperture by 3 stops solves this problem altogether.

Compared to its main rival, the similar GF 32-64mm f4 R LM WR, the new GF 35-70mm is much smaller and less than half the weight, whilst costing a whopping £$1300 less at full retail price.

As such, it’s something of a no-brainer for both complete newcomers to the GFX system and for those who are already invested who are looking for an all-in-one zoom that delivers the goods.

The Fujinon GF35-70mm F4.5-5.6 WR is a lot like the Fujinon GF50mm f/3.5 in that both are great values that perform very well and because they are so affordable compared to other GF lenses some photographers might pass them up and view them as lesser lenses, but both are worth having in your bag.

Vi Vante Luxury Sheetline Rope Camera Strap Blow Out 42% Off and Quick Release System

Vi Vante makes some high-quality accessories that are largely marketed to Leica owners, but their products also fit Fujifilm cameras well. I have been using Vi Vante neck straps on all of my cameras for a while now after leaving Artisan Artist due to a few very expensive bags falling apart and not being reparable under warranty. So far my Vi Vante accessories have held up well so I haven’t had to get anything fixed, but if you like quality accessories I highly recommend you try Vi Vante and the discounted rope strap is a good place to start.

Further, if you like quick-release systems then you should check out Vi Vante’s quick release that is reasonably priced.

PB: Fujinon XF33mm f/1.4 Review – Not A Natural Replacement For The XF35mm f/1.4, But Still A Great Lens

Photography Blog Posted its review of the Fujinon XF33mm f/1.4 and they came away impressed. You can read the full review here or read some excerpts below:

The new Fujifilm XF 33mm F1.4 R LM WR offers a winning combination of an ultra-fast f/1.4 aperture with nine rounded aperture blades for great bokeh, excellent sharpness throughout the aperture range, fast, precise and silent autofocusing, and built-in weather-resistance. The Fujifilm XF 33mm F1.4 R LM WR lens is remarkably sharp in the image centre and almost as sharp at the edges, virtually throughout the entire aperture range….

There is very little optical distortion worth mentioning and the close-focus point of 20cm comes in very handy when including a foreground interest in the image. There are some optical negatives of note. Vignetting is a slight issue, although that’s something that is is true of most fast lenses, chromatic aberrations are noticeable in very high-contrast situations, and flare can be pretty bad when shooting directly into the sun. As usual for a premium Fuji lens, the build quality is excellent. The linear motor auto-focus system is another strong-point, with hardly any delay before locking focus and a pleasingly quiet mechanism.

Sadly, the innovative focus collar for quickly switching between auto and manual focus that is found on the 16mm and 23mm F1.4 lenses hasn’t been included here.Overall, the new Fujifilm XF 33mm F1.4 R LM WR may not be the natural replacement for the venerable XF 35mm F1.4 that everyone was expecting, but it is undoubtedly a great lens and ultimately a more than worthy addition to the Fuji X-system lens range.

I have to say I agree strongly with their statement about it being unfortunate that the focus clutch was not included on this lens. The focus clutch was one of the coolest things Fujifilm had going for them and I would have preferred them to skip the linear motors in this model if that is really the reason that this system would not work. Fujifilm needs to stop abandoning features that make its cameras and lenses unique
