Silver TTArtisan 50mm f/2 Announced

The compact TTArtisan 50mm f/2 can now be purchased in Silver in addition to Black.

  • Portrait-length Lens: The TTartisan 50mm F2 Lens is designed for Canon RF-mount mirrorless cameras. The lens is compact with a weight of about 200g, making it ideal for street photography and other everyday shooting applications.
  • Bright Aperture: Bright f/2 maximum aperture suits working in low-light conditions and also affords greater control over the depth of field. Additionally, a 10-blade diaphragm is featured and contributes a smooth bokeh quality.
  • Excellent Optical Design: 6 elements in 5 groups, including 2 high refraction index elements, which can effectively control spherical aberrations.
  • Manual Focus Design: the 50mm f/2 has a manual focus design, capable of focusing as close as 50cm away.
  • Clicked Aperture Ring: The clicked aperture ring is stepped with the right amount of resistance and click, marking on full stops from F/2 to F/16.

Fujifilm X-T5 Sales Stronger Than Fujifilm X-H2

We don’t get a lot of insight into retailer sales numbers, but multiple Japanese retailers release camera sales rankings that are interesting to compare. Phileweb compiles these rankings, and while the Fujifilm X-H2 only managed to top one retailer’s sales list at launch, the Fujifilm X-T5 almost topped 3, but the Canon EOS R7 pushed the X-T5 down to second place. By most accounts, the Fujifilm X-H2 sold well even though it quickly fell out of the top 5, but even a neutered Fujifilm X-T5 outsold the X-H2.

Maybe, in the future, Fujifilm will decide that it isn’t worth holding back features like a higher resolution viewfinder, 8k recording, vertical grip, and fully articulating screen since many customers prefer classic controls to DSLR style. I have noticed many readers complaining about the Fujifilm X-T line of cameras losing features, and I certainly support them because Fujifilm is messing with one of its most popular cameras.

Fujifilm X-T5 In Stock

Fujifilm X-T5 Black:

Fujifilm X-T5 Silver:

The Fujifilm X-T5 has been a hot seller, but Fujifilm has managed to meet demand with both the Silver and Black bodies currently in stock on Amazon shortly after launch. Other retailers also have stock, but it won’t last for long. I know a lot of users are upset about the lack of battery grip, and the rear screen remains controversial, but the camera is a solid one that keeps the Fujifilm spirit alive.

I have been enjoying my Fujifilm X-T5, and I had a hard time letting my Fujifilm X-T4 go due to the above negatives, but if you care about tracking AF, the Fujifilm X-T5 is substantially better than the Fujifilm X-T4.
