Viltrox released a firmware update for Sony E-Mount Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 lenses that makes the lens into a Viltrox 85mm f/1.6. I have reached out to Viltrox to see if there is a possibility that the X-Mount edition will get a similar update, but I have not hear back yet. If an update like this interests you, I encourage you to politely contact Viltrox and make your interest known.
If you want to give the firmware a look you can get a copy here. If I had the Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 for X-Mount myself I would try to get the DAT file working with X-mount, but maybe a reader can figure out a hack. This is already a very interesting move by Viltrox that adds value to an already great value lens. It’s too bad they did it for Sony cameras only to the best of my knowledge.
