Lensrentals: Fujinon Lens Rentals Increase By 96% In 2017 Canon And Nikon Decreased 8% And 10%

Lensrentals gave FStoppers some insight into their 2017 rental request and the results are quite surprising. Canon is still the number one system by far, followed by… Sony, which has surpassed Nikon. Specifically:

“Sigma continues to gain ground, having become 20 percent more popular than in 2016. Fuji lenses skyrocketed, showing 96 percent more rentals. Sony lenses also increased 22 percent, while Canon and Nikon decreased 8 and 10 percent, respectively. “

This data might explain why the Fujinon sales have been lackluster lately. Fujifilm and Sony seem to be doing quite well, while Canon and Nikon are starting to lose some steam. Even the most recent sale, which is similar to Fujifilm’s old sales isn’t very good with the exception of GFX gear. That being said the GFX sales won’t last very so take advantage of them while you can.
