Fujifilm GFX 50S Shutter Lag Explored and GFX Goes Down Route 66: Updated

The shutter lag is quite long in the above video and I have seen some videos that make it look a little better passively, but J I M I Z E L L’s video goes through quite a few settings. He also show burst shooting. Hopefully he follows up with a video showing the Mechanical + Electronic Shutter option.

Okay, question: by shutter lag is it referring only to the time the image takes to return, or is there also shutter lag between pressing the shutter release and the image being exposed (as it was for early digital cameras)? As someone who has shot with a variety of film MF cameras (Mamiyas and Hasselblad) I can live with the first, but not the second.

    • If you watch the video closely it’s capturing the image the moment he presses the shutter button. I’m also pretty sure Fujifilm published sub one second numbers about this… he’s simply complaining about recycle time. He’s not overly clear, but it’s the first dead on look that I have seen.

Someone is shooting sports with their GFX. I shared their photos in the GFX group. So it can’t be bad.
