Ben Cherry on The XF100-400mm F4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR

Fujifilm released a beautiful video of the XF100-400mmF4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR on a X-T1 being used in Scotland by Ben Cherry to photograph wild life that we reviewed a few weeks ago. In the video, he reports being impressed with the lens’ ability to perform in continues autofocus mode, which echoes our experience, and the video includes some impressive photos he was able to capture with this amazing lens.

the thing that bugged me with the xpro2 release was the amount of official Fujifilm “review” videos with professional photographers.. these are not the videos i look for when searching for xpro2 .. i wanted to see previews, reviews, tests and opinions.. videos that were uploaded by Fujifilm wont give me an honest impression.. i hope they dont do it with the x-t2.. i just wont watch these videos..

    • I didn’t like that everyone was repeating Fuji’s talking points, but still some people appreciate the high production value of their marketing material so it’s worth sharing. Of course they are going to do it with their X-T2 launch, but maybe the strict marketing message will be dialed down a little. I’m still working on my review of the X-Pro 2 and it’s kind of nice to not be rushing it since the camera is mine.

Similarly I’ll be buying an X-T2 unless we get access to an early review unit by that time, but I’ll only ever accept equipment for review that I am free to be critical about. See my Leica SL review over at Leicarumors. Leica is very good about letting reviewers say what they need to say and I respect them for the freedom.
