Fujifilm GFX 50S vs Nikon D810

Wow… Just wow… Fujifilm has done an incredible job miniaturizing medium format. According to DPReview the Fujifilm GFX 50S is a little shorter over all, but I’m sure many of the lenses are going to be bigger than full frame equivalent lenses, even though they put the medium format body on a serious diet. I was genuinely expecting this camera body to be about the size of a D810.

Luminous Landscape on The Fujifilm X-T2

We can’t forget about the excellent Fujifilm X-T2 in all the GFX excitement. Luminous Landscape took the X-T2 to Greenland for testing and found the camera extremely exciting because Fujifilm listens to photographers.

“No matter what I have thrown at this camera during this trip it has performed”

Best hands on with the Fujifilm GFX 50S so far by Mirrorlessons. The size looks very manageable compared to current Fujifilm cameras.

If you recall, from one of my first posts, “24MP and Beyond“, there was some controversy over my statements that the megapixel war needs to begin again. It’s my belief that Fujifilm’s move to medium format is in recognition of the technological demands to come, which I addressed in my first article. Read More »

Fujifilm GFX 50S Details From DPReview Hands-on

DPReview just went hands on with the Fujifilm GFX 50S and it had been verified that there is no X-Trans sensor in the camera. I think this is a shame, but it probably comes down to processing power. X-Trans requires a lot of processing power to capture and interprite the RAW data at home, which slows down editing. Lets hope that Fujifilm maintains their unique character.

Beyond the sensor the camera is said to be surprisingly light and to handle like the X-T2 so the Fujifilm camera feel has not been lost on the big body. Stay tuned for further coverage and check out DPReviews hands on image gallery and impressions here.
