Fujifilm Announces X Acquire Officially

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Kenji Sukeno) has announced that it will launch the tether shooting software “FUJIFILM X Acquire (here after X Acquire)” compatible with FUJIFILM GFX 50S (here after GFX 50S).
X Acquire will be available from the FUJIFILM website for free.

X Acquire is tethering software that allows users to connect GFX 50S to a Mac or PC via USB cable for direct transferring and saving of captured images onto the computer. Users can select file types for saving onto the memory card in the camera, and for transferring and saving onto the computer either in RAW or JPEG format. X Acquire is also compatible with tether shooting features of FUJIFILM X-T1 and FUJIFILM X-T2.

“FUJIFILM Tether Shooting Plug-in PRO for Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom®” and “FUJIFILM Tether Shooting Plug-in for Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom®” enable users to send tethered images directly to Lightroom. “FUJIFILM HS-V5 for Windows®” enables users to “capture”, “select”, and “organize” images as part of their workflow.

Fujifilm GFX 50S Shortages? Delay?

It’s unclear if Fujifilm is talking about shortages or a full blown delay, but “it is expected that this situation will be resolved after about 1 month.” doesn’t sound great.

2017 X Mount Lens Roadmap and CameraStoreTV

Valhalla, N.Y., February 22, 2017 –FUJIFILM North America Corporation today unveiled the latest development roadmap of interchangeable lenses for the X Series digital cameras. Since the introduction of the award-winning X Series line, Fujifilm has continued to develop the series by actively introducing new products and working to expand the lineup of FUJINON X Mount lenses to include a total of 24 lenses to date. The FUJIFILM X Series lineup has been praised by photographers for its advanced image quality and mobility.

New MK Series Cinema Lenses 
In response to increased demand from photographers, the ‘emerging’ cinematographer and the professional video production field for high-definition video, including 4K video, Fujifilm is developing X Mount versions of the all-new MK Series of cinema camera lenses. This development will enable users to record video with X Series cameras, taking advantage of the excellent mobility and operability, as well as unique color-reproduction technology to capture premium-quality video in an amazing array of colors. The lenses will be available by the end of 2017.

Telephoto Prime Lens and Ultra-Wide Angle Zoom Lens for Still Images
Fujifilm has continued to expand its lineup of X Mount lenses to include a wide range of focal lengths, from wide angle to ultra-telephoto. To further expand, there are now plans to develop a telephoto prime lens and an ultra-wide angle zoom lens in response to the growing needs of professional photographers and photography enthusiasts.

TheCameraStoreTV did a video on the Fujinon MK 18-55 T2.9 that they released today, but it was for E-mount. Now we know this lens will be coming to X-mount also in 2017. These look like excellent cinema lenses.

Fujifilm GFX 50S NYC Event

Fujifilm released an official video form the Fujifilm GFX New York City launch event. We previously posted the Professor Foto video from this event. Looks like it was a great time, maybe more photos from the event will surface in the future. Pretty cool idea to give guest prints from the GFX.

The Fujifilm GFX 50S is Almost Here: Updated

Everyday there is an avalanche of new Fujifilm GFX 50S content and we are doing our best to keep up with the volume. The Fujifilm GFX Owners Group now has a lot of sample images. There are also images showing up on 500px, Instagram, Flickr, and more…


RAWDIGGER GFX support is no longer just available in the release candidate version.


A variety of adapters have arrived for the Fujifilm GFX50S thanks to Fotodiox via adorama and for those worried about damaging their mount with heavy adapted lenses we also have some specs about how strong the mount is now:

The mount is 1.6x thicker than the X Mount and is made of high strength stainless steel. The rigidity can be calculated by thickness multiplied to the third power, 1.6×1.6×1.6+=4.096. The calculation shows that the G Mount is four times tougher than the X Mount. The mount also has also passed the test of 10kg load. – Fujifilm

Fujifilm has also been shipping cameras early via B&H Photo so make sure you have plenty of room on your credit card because they moved there shipping date again to February 23rd and now it’s the 28th, but Adorama is the 24th!

First Report of a Production Fujifilm GFX 50S

BigHeadTaco received a Fujifilm GFX 50S from Fujifilm with production firmware 1.0. He was so excited he did a live stream where he forgot everything about the GFX so it’s not really worth watching, but he does share one interesting detail. The entire Fujifilm GFX 50S kit, including charger, fits inside the official FUJIFILM X Series Domke F-803.
