7Artisans Lenses Coming To Fujifilm X-Mount

7Artisans lenses have become quite popular with their best bang for the buck approach to lens design and they are bringing their glass to X-mount. They do not make the smallest or lightest lenses, but their optical performance for the price is quite good on Leica and Sony cameras. 7Artisans lenses can be found on Amazon and will be a good budget option to Fujinon glass. Even our sister site Leicarumors enjoys shooting 7Artisans lenses.

New Fujifilm Camera Registered Today And Might Be The X80 or XT2S

Letsgodigital spotted a Fujifilm camera registered for Bluetooth certification today with the model number FF170003. It is believed that this camera could be the rumored Fujifilm XT2S or X80, but what about the XT100 that was also rumored… either way we should see yet another great camera from Fujifilm soon. Thanks for the heads up guys.

Fujifilm X-E3, Fujinon XF 200 f/2, GF 250 f/4, and XF 8-16 f/2.8

Cameta Camera asked Fujifilm about the availability of the Fujinon GF 250mm f/4 R LM OIS WR, XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR, and XF 8-16mm f/2.8 R LM WR, which will be launched in spring and summer 2018. Not a lot of new information, but the video gives us our first good look at how these lenses compare size wise and the Fujinon XF 200mm f/2 looks to be a little shorter, but fatter, than the Fujinon GF 250mm f/4. Both lenses should focus quickly since they are LM lenses, but it’s unclear if the GFX will be able to track in any useful way. The XF 200mm f/2 will be amazing with the XF2X TC WR and XF1.4x TC WR teleconverters, which will turn the lens into roughly a 400mm f/4 and 300mm f/2.8. The GF1.4X TC WC teleconverter is also shown in the video, but I didn’t take a screen capture. The GF1.4X TC will turn the Fujinon GF 250mm f/4 into roughly a 350mm f/5.6.

The Fujinon XF 8-16mm f/2.8 R LM WR is also pictured and looks quite large so if you value portability the Fujinon XF 10-24mm f/4 R OIS might be a better lens for you. I am sure the XF8-16mm will be an amazing lens, but the XF10-24mm is already around $1,000 even on sale so the XF8-16mm will also be substantially more. You will have to really love fast wide angle lenses to justify the expense and size/weight of the XF8-16mm when it is released.

Fujiguys: Fujinon XF60mm f/2.4 & XF80mm f/2.8 Side by Side

The Fujiguys shoot the Fujifilm Fujinon XF60mm and XF80mm side by side along with extension tubes and teleconverters for the first time and the results they present are quite similar. I currently own the XF60mm and am finding the XF80mm hard to resist, but if you look really hard you can find the Fujinon XF60mm used for prices so low that it’s impossible to say no. You have to really love macro work to step up into the XF80mm, but the ability to use the 2.0x and 1.4x teleconverter is compelling. If you own one or both already the XF80mm becomes an extremely versatile lens.
