Filming with a DSLR style camera can be a bit awkward at times, which is why there are so many cages and housing available for this purpose today at a variety of price points. Palle Schultz uses a SmallRig Right Side Wooden Grip and rr-90 trigger release to add a record button to his video rig to add a little convenience. The final results look very professional and if you are handy you can save some money building your own SmallRig with a record button.

Fujinon MK18-55mm T2.9 and MK50-135mm T2.9

The Fujinon MK18-55mm T2.9 and MK50-135mm T2.9 are very well respected cinema lenses now that both are widely available. At their price point, they are unmatched, which will hopefully lead to further affordable professional video development from Fujifilm. It’s highly likely that Fujifilm will release an X-mount based professional video solution at some point in the future, considering how well the Fujifilm X-T2 performs today. Fujifilm does have a background in professional broadcast video and cinema, but it’s not widely known.

Fringer Smart Adapter Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art PDAF Demo

Fringer Smart Adapters have been around for a while and are usually first to market with a lot of great features, but there is a lot of competition today. While the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art’s performance looks very good in the above video, Techart and Steelsring aren’t far behind Fringer. I have only personally used Techart AF adapters and they worked quite well on my Sony cameras, but I have heard good things about Fringer. Fujifilm Festival 2017 Recap, New Fujifilm Apparel, and Community

The Fujifilm Festival sold out and was apparently a success that Fujifilm plans to build on because they launched a new channel FUJIFILM Cameras North America which launched with a festival recap video here. Fujifilm XF 80mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro and Extension Tubes

The well reviewed Fujifilm XF 80mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro is about to ship with some new affordable products designed for macro photographers. While the Fujifilm MCEX-16 and Fujifilm MCEX-11 extension tubes can be very useful they are on the expensive side, which is why the release of the JJC Auto Focus Macro Extension Tube Set is good news for macro fans. At half the price of just a single Fujifilm extension tube this set is a good value and reportedly only doesn’t work with the XF23mm f/2.
