Fujifilm GFX 50S: Roundup, Adapted Canon/Nikon Lens Tests, Lens Reviews, And More

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xV2hu4lzg9s

Recently Fujifilm has sent out a lot of GFX cameras for review to some “mainstream” bloggers/vloggers and of course, everyone loves the camera, even if it’s not for them. It’s as if they are trying to build some additional interesting in the GFX leading up to the Fujifilm GFX 50R launch, which should be a cheaper alternative to the Fujifilm GFX 50S.

The Fujifilm GFX has also been attracting a lot of full frame Canon and Nikon photographers looking for something a little special. The new 35mm crop features and now abandoned adapters have made their switch easier, but many are pleasantly surprised to find that their lenses cover the full Fujifilm GFX sensor without needing the crop feature.

Fujifilm Xerox Merger Update

Fujifilm is still trying to compel the merger with Xerox, but now they are setting a deadline of accomplishing it within 6 months or walking away. On Xerox’s side, Carl Icahn and Darwin Deason are still insisting on $40 a share, which would be a 43% premium over Fujifilm’s initial offer, which Fujifilm considers unreasonable.

As this deal gets examined further public it’s interesting to note that a large portion of Fujifilm’s profits come from their partnership with Xerox, which would be difficult to terminate. Fujifilm builds almost all of Xerox’s technology and it is proprietary so in Fujifilm’s view, it is in both companies best interests to more closely partner to make their arrangement even more profitable.

FUJIFILM ANNOUNCES THE NEW GETPIX DASH PHOTO KIOSK, A SLEEK AND AFFORDABLE PLATFORM THAT ENABLES PRINTING FROM MOBILE DEVICES

FUJIFILM ANNOUNCES THE NEW GETPIX DASH PHOTO KIOSK, A SLEEK AND AFFORDABLE PLATFORM THAT ENABLES PRINTING FROM MOBILE DEVICES
Valhalla, N.Y., June 1, 2018 – As a leader in imaging innovation, FUJIFILM North America Corporation today announced the launch of the new GetPix DASH photo kiosk, a low cost platform for photo printing from mobile devices without the need for cables or a dedicated App. Offering a flexible countertop or floor-standing pedestal, the GetPix DASH takes up minimal space, making it ideal for small businesses and retail spaces.

According to Info Trends, over 1.2 trillion photos are taken every year, the majority of which are taken with mobile devices. The GetPix DASH’s ease of use is an excellent way for consumers to print images from their smartphones, allowing them to display and share special captured memories. Users simply upload their images to mygetpix.com and visit the nearest GetPix DASH photo kiosk. Once at the kiosk, they then enter the code received after uploading their images and are ready to print their photos. Utilizing the ASK-300 dye-sublimation printer, the GetPix DASH platform offers quality photos in a matter of seconds.

“We are excited to bring this new kiosk platform to the market”, said Manny Almeida, President of the Imaging Division at FUJIFILM North America Corporation. “With its low price point and extremely easy access to mobile images, the GetPix DASH will open doors to different channels and allow consumers to more easily make prints from their mobile images.” Read More »
