When Fujifilm and Hasselblad launched their mirrorless medium format cameras a few years ago, Fujifilm jumped into the lead due to the Hasselblad X1D’s poor performance. When the GFX100 launched, Hasselblad answered with the updated Hasselblad X1D II 50C, which was a little better than the X1D, but it still could not keep up with GFX.
Now Hasselblad looks like they are ready to compete with Fujifilm with the new Hasselblad X2D 100C that actually wins quite a few categories, which shouldn’t come as a surprise due to GFX100 and GFX100S being on the market for a while now. I really hope the Hasselblad X2D 100C doesn’t disappoint like the original Hasselblad X1D did, but we will have to wait for initial reviews.
