CineD: Fujifilm X100VI Launch Interview – Why China, X100VI Production Volume, and Cinima Camera?

Fujifilm X100VI Silver and Black:
B&H Photo / Amazon (Silver : Black) / Moment / Adorama

CineD always has some great interviews with Fujifilm and the above is no different so feel free to give it a watch or check out the key points below

  • X100VI is for photo enthusiasts who don’t like to compromise on image quality and it appeals to film photographers
  • First camera with ND and IBIS and it wasn’t difficult to do because the ND filter is part of the shutter mechanism
  • It would not be easy to do both in an interchangeable-lens camera because of the way the space in the image sensor stack works out
  • Fujifilm X100V was very popular and sold exceptionally well so Fujifilm doubled their capacity
  • Fujifilm has its highest manufacturing capacity in China, most of the camera parts come from China, and China’s manufacturing quality is equivalent to Japan’s so it made sense to manufacture the camera in China
  • REALA ACE will come to other 5th-generation cameras
  • Fujifilm is aware that customers want a Fujifilm Cinema Camera, but there are no concrete plans at the moment, but it could change tomorrow
  • Next X Summit in Sydney Australia

They finished up with please everyone buy this camera, but sales have been very strong by all accounts so the plea is really really unnecessary.
