Fujifilm unveils the latest development roadmap for interchangeable lenses for the GFX Series of mirrorless digital cameras
-Adding three new lenses will make the lineup a total of 17 lenses, expanding the field of photography in superior image quality by large-format sensor
TOKYO, September 2, 2021 – FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Teiichi Goto) has unveiled the latest development roadmap for interchangeable GF lenses for the GFX Series of mirrorless digital cameras, which incorporate the large-format sensors*1, approximately 1.7 times larger than a 35mm full-frame sensor. The latest roadmap has been newly added with a zoom lens that covers the widest-angle focal length range among GF lenses, as well as a large-diameter standard prime lens characterized by creamy bokeh and a tilt & shift lens perfectly suited for architectural and advertising photography. This makes the lineup for GF lenses a total of 17, expanding the field of photography in superior image quality made possible by large-format sensor.
New interchangeable lenses added to the roadmap
➀ Ultra-wide-angle zoom lens
This zoom lens covers the focal length from 20mm (equivalent to 16mm in the 35mm format), the widest angle among GF lenses, to 35mm (equivalent to 28mm in the 35mm format). It achieves edge-to-edge sharpness, capturing the finest details of subject in incredible clarity. The ultra-wide angle of view can bring vast expanses of background scene into the frame for dynamic photographic expression.
➁ Large-diameter standard prime lens
This is a large-diameter standard prime lens with the focal length of 55mm (equivalent to 44mm in the 35mm format). It achieves an ultra-bright maximum aperture of F1.7, the same as the FUJINON Lens GF80mmF1.7 R WR, released in February this year. When combined with a large-format sensor’s ability to deliver a shallow depth of field, the lens renders the background beautifully out of focus to creamy bokeh.
➂ Tilt & shift lens
This lens incorporates a tilting mechanism that gives the ability to adjust the focal plane as intended, as well as a shifting mechanism that corrects image distortions that arise for example when shooting tall architecture. This makes it a perfect choice for advertising and other commercial photography, meeting the needs of professional photographers.
Today, Fujifilm has announced the launch of the FUJINON Lens GF35-70mmF4.5-5.6 WR, a compact and lightweight zoom lens that covers the most frequently-used focal length range. This lens forms a part of the 17-lens lineup, including three lenses unveiled in the new roadmap, delivering the appeals of photography and the joy of shooting photography.

Fujifilm unveils the latest development roadmap for interchangeable lenses for the X Series of mirrorless digital cameras
-Adding two new lenses to create an extensive 40-lens lineup, further evolving the X Mount
TOKYO, September 2, 2021 – FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Teiichi Goto) has unveiled the latest development roadmap for interchangeable XF lenses for the X Series of compact and lightweight mirrorless digital cameras, which offer outstanding image quality based on the company’s proprietary color reproduction technology. The latest roadmap shows the addition of two new lenses, an ultra-telephoto zoom and a high-magnification zoom.
Fujifilm has actively added new X Series products and expanded the lineup of XF lenses to broaden the appeal of photographical potential delivered by the compact and lightweight X Mount system*1. Newly added XF lenses to the roadmap are an ultra-telephoto zoom lens and a high-magnification zoom lens, establishing a 40 lens lineup covering extensive focal lengths to cater to diverse shooting needs.
Interchangeable lenses newly added to the roadmap
① Ultra-telephoto zoom lens
This ultra-telephoto zoom lens offers focal lengths from 150mm to 600mm (equivalent to 229-914mm in the 35mm format), the longest in the lineup of the X Series. The focal lengths from telephoto to the ultra-telephoto range make it a perfect choice for shooting athletes or wildlife in the far distance. Its compact design, thanks to the advantage of the X Mount system, provides an outstanding mobility, allowing users to shoot hand-held with ease.
② High-magnification zoom lens
This high-magnification zoom lens covers the focal length from 18mm to 120mm (equivalent to 27-183mm in the 35mm format). This is the first XF lens to feature a function that assists full-fledged one-person video recording, facilitating diverse needs from still photography to videography.
Fujifilm has today announced the launch of the large-diameter wide-angle prime lens “FUJINON Lens XF23mmF1.4 R LM WR” and the large-diameter standard prime lens “FUJINON Lens XF33mmF1.4 R LM WR.” Including the large-diameter wide-angle prime lens “FUJINON Lens XF18mmF1.4 R LM WR,” released in May this year, a total of three lenses form a new-generation “large diameter prime” series with superior resolution capabilities, catering to future advancement in image sensor resolutions.
With the versatile lineup including the new-generation “large diameter prime” series and the two lenses added to the roadmap this time, Fujifilm will continue to evolve the X Mount system, providing photographic pleasure to users.
