Michael A. McCoy
DATE: Monday, Nov. 9
TIME: 5-6PM EST

Michael A. McCoy is a Baltimore native who served two tours in Iraq, and whose work appears in Time Magazine, The Washington Post, The New York Times, The New Yorker, and Wall Street Journal, among others, as well as Getty Images. He says that after his service in Iraq, “The camera is my saving sanctuary,” and adds, “Photography crystallizes a moment in time and gives the opportunity of experiencing life through the eyes of others.”

Drew Gardner
DATE: Friday, Nov. 13
TIME: 3:30-4:30PM EST

Born out of his passion for history, Drew recreates portraits of some of the world’s most famous historical figures featuring their direct descendants. After in-depth research tracing the direct descendants and verifying their lineage, the famous portraits are recreated with painstaking attention to the smallest of details. From sourcing period costumes and props to the authentic backgrounds, Drew then carefully analyses the lighting in each portrait and patiently recreates them using the latest lighting techniques. The end results often show startling resemblances to their forebears

Miles Witt Boyer
DATE: Wednesday, Nov. 18
TIME: 3:30-4:30PM EST

The modern wedding photographer is an artist, a stylist, an entrepreneur, a personality, a brand, a technician, a problem solver, and perhaps most essentially a storyteller. Our stories weave themselves into our images as the experiences we share with our clients. This course will challenge the way you see yourself, ask you to examine the experience you’re delivering for your clients, and encourage you to be intentional with the way you take time to weave your own story into the art you create for your clients.

Ashley Gilbertson And Ron Haviv
DATE: Friday, Nov. 20
TIME: 3:30-4:30PM EST

Gilbertson and Haviv will outline their motivations in practicing photojournalism, their travels around the world documenting social change and their movement into hyper local coverage as their home city of New York was ravaged by the pandemic. Both Gilbertson and Haviv use a variety of Fujifilm cameras for video and still work, and they will cover what situations dictate what format.
