Viltrox 33mm f/1.4 – 5 First Impressions

The Viltrox 33mm should be available soon, but until then there are a few reviewers starting their coverage.

  • A nice metal hood that feels more durable than the lens body
  • Small size lens
  • Balanced well on the X-H1
  • Quick snappy AF in good light
  • Wish the aperture lens wasn’t step-less and was 1/3 stop
  • The focus ring is link butter
  • Nice Image quality
  • Fringing is under control
  • Vignetting is well behaved
  • Decently sharp at 1.4
  • Much sharper stopped down
  • Haze when backlit
  • Fastest 50mm effective AF in testing between Canon 50mm, Fuji GF63mm, Viltrox 33mm
