Laowa Argus f/0.95 Coming Soon?

Venus Optics Laowa has been turning out some very innovative lenses lately and they are teasing a new line the Argus. All I can tell you for now is that is will be for DSLR and Mirrorless Full Frame / APS-C. I’m hopeful it will be designed with Fujifilm in mind because one of the first things I was told about the leaked Laowa 15mm f/4.5W-Dreamer Tilt-Shift was that it covers GFX without shift from my contact so they do have us in mind when making these unique designs.

I have also been told that the mounts for this lens haven’t been decided yet and that the design is still in progress. Many are speculating it will be wide and my contact says they expect it to be between 20-35mm, but can’t say for sure. It’s interesting they are introducing a 0.95 line now. SLR Magic made a very high-quality 50mm f/0.95 Noktor for M-Mount that was around $4k that came close to beating the legendary expensive Leica Noctilux 0.95. With what we have seen from Laowa lately I would not be surprised to see this level of quality at an even more reasonable price than what SLR Magic could reach.

Also the above was leaked from a small presentation they did. It’s interesting that Laowa leaks come from so many places, but we almost never see this kind of leak from other manufacturers. I’m personally looking forward to the Argus line and have already expressed my interest in giving it a try when samples are ready.
