Fujifilm GFX 50S: Tap & Dye’s Hasselblad Neck Strap

Cameras rarely come with quality neck straps. Even special edition Leica cameras come with relatively poor quality neck straps that owners quickly replace if they use their camera regularly. While a few members of our Fujifilm GFX Owners Group have purchased alternative neck straps many are currently using their stock neck strap or are waiting for more options.

I was in the second camp that was waiting for more selection to emerge, but since my stock strap started fraying I decided to take a chance on a 50″ Tap & Dye’s Hasselblad neck strap. Tap & Dye was unsure if it would fit correctly, but I took a chance and it fits perfectly. This is my first Tap & Dye product and the fit and finish are exceptional. If you like leather I don’t think you can go wrong with them and their prices are relatively reasonable for a handcrafted good. The only things they could do to make their strap nicer would be offering an option for a custom stamp design in the leather and to let you send in your GFX strap lugs (Tap & Dye contacted me and you can further customize your strap, but you will have to contact them about going beyond the website options).

If leather isn’t your thing Artisan & Artist makes a cloth and silk cord Hasselblad neck strap and Black Label Bag makes a similar cloth strap. B&H Photo and Amazon have a variety of Hasselblad options available. Hopefully, we will see a lot more options in the near future. There is definitely a market for these Hasselblad straps now that the Fujifilm GFX is available.
