Fujifilm Professional Service in Europe Starts on March 1st 2017

Fujifilm announces new Professional Service Scheme for Europe

Enhanced Service dedicated to the needs of professional photographers, incorporating both GFX and top ‘X’ Cameras and Lenses

Fujifilm began selling both compact and professional film cameras in the 1960s and at that time set up a comprehensive repair service across all major European countries.  In 1995, at the start of the digital camera revolution, the service was expanded and customised to the modern ‘digital’ customer.

Since 1995, most of Fujifilm’s service was dedicated to compact digital cameras, and it is only recently that the service centres have begun, once again, to service interchangeable cameras and lenses.

Fujifilm is acutely aware that its reputation in the marketplace, particularly with professional photographer, relies on a quick and efficient service.  As high-end cameras and lenses demand very high levels of skills to service and repair, Fujifilm has ensured first level service is handled by the relevant Fujifilm entity in each country, while ‘deep’ repair is concentrated at its large Service Centres in the UK, France and Portugal.

With the increasing numbers of professional photographers switching to Fuji mirrorless cameras like the X-Pro2 and X-T2, and also with the launch of the GFX medium format mirrorless system in March 2017, Fujifilm is pleased to announce the establishment of a new camera service dedicated to the needs of professional photographers called ‘Fujifilm Professional Service’. This will commence on March 1st 2017 in the biggest markets, like the UK and Germany, and will be gradually expanded during 2017 to service all major markets in Europe, including Turkey and Russia.

The new service will cost €300 (£260) per year, but will be offered free to those who qualify, for the first two years.  Qualification is offered to all working photographersand also to those who own a GFX system or at least 2 professional camera bodies and three XF lenses.

Fujifilm carried out extensive research to discover what is really important to photographers. Top of the list was a quick, dependable service with a guaranteed service time.  Fujifilm will offer a maximum turnaround time of 15 days (between pick-up and delivery) for an X series camera and lenses and 10 days for GFX bodies and lenses.  If this turnaround time cannot be met (if spare parts are not available for instance) Fujifilm will automatically offer the customer a free loan until the repaired camera is returned.  Further benefits are a free health check and sensor clean for up to 2 products in any one year, a dedicated telephone support line and a 15% discount on any out-of-warranty repair.

Fujifilm is aware that professional photographers may also work outside Europe and will be in close touch with repair centres in other major territories to ensure qualifying photographers are afforded a similar high level of service.
