Really Right Stuff BXT2 Plates For Fujifilm X-T2: Preorder

RRS BXT2

If you preordered the X-T2 The Really Right Stuff has a Fujifilm X-T 2 base plate available for preorder today.

“Really Right Stuff camera body plates are all custom designed for each camera body and precision machined from solid blocks of 6061-T6 aluminum. Fully compatible with any RRS style quick-release system, our plates feature precisely contoured anti-twist flanges for a perfect fit that prevents twisting between the camera and our plate. All of our quick-release plates utilize a custom machined ¼”-20 threaded, captive-style mounting screw that threads into the tripod mounting socket of your camera body.

Really Right Stuff camera L-plates feature two dovetail mounting surfaces in the shape of an “L”; one on the bottom of your camera, and one on the left-hand side. This additional mounting option allows you to quickly change between landscape and portrait orientations while minimizing the need to recompose your shot, saving you time and hassle. Also, an L-plate keeps your gear centered directly above the tripod’s apex which helps maintain the best stability possible.”

Recommended Uses

  • Adding quick-release functionality to your camera body
  • Best method for changing between landscape and portrait orientations
  • Allows portrait orientation with panorama nodal slides
  • Allows landscape orientations with side mount gimbal heads

Fujifilm X-T2 Reviews/Previews/Hands-on

I am in the process of reading all the reviews and product information out there to better understand the differences between the Fujifilm X-T2, X-T1 and X-Pro2. I hope I can save readers a little time by commenting on the various written reviews with details that stand out about them so you can avoid filler and/or click bait. I’m not going to reveal their conclusions, because half of the writers admit their bias. I’m also not going to comment on all of the videos posted below because the fixed pace makes them unrealistic to quickly absorb, but I will be reducing and reorganizing them and the coverage throughout the day so check back frequently for the best X-T2 coverage.

Interesting details:
Lightroom and Camera Raw already support the X-T2’s RAW files!
Log is wide color gamut
EVF operates at 60fps and 100fps in boost mode (X-Pro 2 54 standard and 85 high performance)
X-T2 responds in 118ms (X-T1 in 280ms)
X-T2 startup time .3 sec (X-T1 .5 sec)
4k limited to 10 min without battery grip and 30 min with battery grip
4k video is down sampled from 5120×2880 to 3840×2160 which is a 1.17x crop
1k video is
F-Log is 4:2:2 8-bit
With battery grip you get 11fps with mechanical shutter and 14fps electronic shutter
