Fujifilm released an official video form the Fujifilm GFX New York City launch event. We previously posted the Professor Foto video from this event. Looks like it was a great time, maybe more photos from the event will surface in the future. Pretty cool idea to give guest prints from the GFX.

A variety of adapters have arrived for the Fujifilm GFX50S thanks to Fotodiox via adorama and for those worried about damaging their mount with heavy adapted lenses we also have some specs about how strong the mount is now:
The mount is 1.6x thicker than the X Mount and is made of high strength stainless steel. The rigidity can be calculated by thickness multiplied to the third power, 1.6×1.6×1.6+=4.096. The calculation shows that the G Mount is four times tougher than the X Mount. The mount also has also passed the test of 10kg load. – Fujifilm

BigHeadTaco received a Fujifilm GFX 50S from Fujifilm with production firmware 1.0. He was so excited he did a live stream where he forgot everything about the GFX so it’s not really worth watching, but he does share one interesting detail. The entire Fujifilm GFX 50S kit, including charger, fits inside the official FUJIFILM X Series Domke F-803.

From the test shots available photographers have judged the Fujinon 120mm f/4 the sharpest launch lens followed by the Fujinon 63mm f/2.8. It’s good to see that independent testing has verified these opinions. Lemondedelaphoto doesn’t go into their testing methodology, but this is the best objective measure we have had yet.
Even the Fujinon 32-64mm f/4 performs very well, with 64mm being superb. I would like to see a lot more samples from this lens at 64mm, but I just might have to change my pre-order if I decided I don’t need the extra light gathering power of the 63mm.
“Overall, the sharpness is always high, from very good to superlative depending on the focal length and the apertures. Only the corner area is sharply recessed at the focal length of 46 mm on the zoom, in all cases the dive is superlative over the field at medium apertures. The vignetting is never annoying and the chromatic aberration almost invisible, the only small defect noted is a cushion distortion (-0.15%) a little strong on the 120 mm macro that can be used to make reproductions of Works of art or documents, a little post-processing will be required.”
