Think Tank Signature Series 13 Perfect For The Fujifilm GFX

In the past, Think Tank Photo didn’t have a bag for someone like me. I found their ultra utilitarian style very unappealing, as I have always preferred bags from companies like Billingham and Artisan & Artist. Until recently, I have purchased smaller Billingham bags for my mirrorless cameras, and larger Artisan & Artist bags for carrying more equipment; but my last large bag from Artisan & Artist wore out in about a year, and the company refused to repair the shoulder strap. Now I consider myself very lucky as Think Tank Photo announced their Signature Series of bags when I was in the market for a replacement.

The Signature 10 and 13 are both great options for the Fujifilm GFX system but, after watching Think Tank Photo’s promotional video, I decided to purchase the Signature 13 to ensure enough room for my entire kit. The bag is a very nice size, extremely configurable, light and comfortable. My only complaints are that the front cover can bunch up a little and the case does not fit a 15-inch MacBook Pro. I never understood editing/proofing photos on a small laptop screen. As a camera bag , the Signature Series 13 is perfect for the Fujifilm GFX 50S, but I really wish they made a 15-inch model.

Fujifilm GFX 50S For Wine Lovers, GF120 Lens Review and More

Fine spirits usually have a tonal richness to them that can be difficult to capture and the Fujifilm GFX 50S would be perfect for this kind of pursuit. Yorick Photography did a GFX wine shoot recently, not quite in the way that I imagined, but it’s still very well done. You can see their process in the video above and the final result below.

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Kenji Sukeno) is proud to announce that its 17 major products, including the compact and lightweight medium-format mirrorless digital camera “FUJIFILM GFX 50S,” carrying a large image sensor, have won the Red Dot Design Award 2017, a product design award program organized by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen based in Essen, Germany.

Fujifilm has won the Red Dot Design Award for five consecutive years since 2013 with its products, including the X Series of digital cameras, praised by professional photographers and photography enthusiasts for their outstanding image quality, excellent operability and premium design. ON1 Photo RAW 2017.1 Adds Support for Fujifilm GFX 50s, X100F, X-T20 and X-A3

ON1 Photo RAW 2017.1 was released on schedule Monday along with a lot of improvements. I’m curious how it handles GFX files compared to Lightroom and X-Transformer. In recent months I have been contacted by a few small RAW developer companies adding Fujifilm support, but I’m pretty sure that most of them are using an open source solution for their X-Trans implementation, because it’s not an easy algorithm to fine tune. The market is almost getting over saturated.

Full Release Notes

ON1 Photo is the lightning fast photo organizer, raw processor, layered photo editor and effects app all-in-one. Unlike the current class of raw processors requiring cataloging, bouncing between apps for editing, and a subscription ecosystem, ON1 Photo features a new, modern raw processing engine, tuned for today’s sensors and graphics chips. Combined with our current set of tools, the next generation of ON1 Photo 10, will continue to work where you want, as a standalone app, a plug-in for Adobe® Photoshop® & Lightroom®, or a host app for other editing apps.

Not sure you have the latest version?

Please note, after installing a free update, the program will still be listed on your machine as “ON1 Photo RAW 2017”. However, the build number (11.1.0.3608) is listed in the bottom left corner of the About Window after installing from the links above. DPReview: Fujifilm GFX 50S vs Hasselblad X1D Studio Scene

DPReview added the Hasselblad X1D to their Studio Scene comparison today. The high ISO results are pretty surprising IMO and it’s also interesting that DPReview cites photonstophotos.net in their first impressions. DXO Mark better watch out or start including Fujifilm cameras in their results, because photonstopphotos is an excellent resource. Comparisons between the Hasselblad X1D and Fujifilm GFX 50s are going to be interesting going forward, because they don’t have any similar glass at the moment and the Hasselblad isn’t designed to accept adapted glass. The battle for medium format supremacy is going to be a long and interesting one. you can see the DPReview results here.
