Fujifilm officially announced the Fujifilm FUJINON MK50-135mm T2.9 for E-mount today. Hopefully, we will see the X-mount version soon. It’s great that Fujifilm is releasing these high quality affordable cine lenses, that are highly praised, but there still aren’t any great cine zooms like this for X-mount available.

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Kenji Sukeno) will release the FUJINON MK50-135mm T2.9 (MK50-135mm) telephoto zoom lens with the focal length of 50-135mm in mid July 2017, following the first launch of the MK series of cinema camera lenses that boast advanced optical performance, ultra-compact and lightweight design and excellent cost performance. The MK50-135mm can be combined with the already-released FUJINON MK18-55mm T2.9 (MK18-55mm) standard zoom lens to form a kit that covers the most frequently-used focal lengths of 18mm to 135mm, accommodating a broader variety of conditions. The Fujifilm GFX 50S is a great camera for Astrophotography and I regularly shoot my GFX alongside my Fujifilm X-T2 every month during the new moon, which you can see in my astrophotography album.
It seems that content creators are shifting increasingly towards video and sites like Instagram, which is a shame because they do not come close to being able to demonstrate the full potential of the Fujifilm GFX. In total today there is about an hour of GFX video content along with an interesting Pentax 645Z vs GFX comparison, but it’s in Russian so you will have to use auto-translate, which isn’t very good for this video.
I’m in the process of assembling some final studio work and impressions before putting my launch system review together. I also have some new astrophotography shots from a different location that are better than anything else I have obtained so far and I can’t wait to share them. I also got my hands on a Sony a9 that you will be able to read about over at Sonyaddict if you’re interested.

The above video shot with a Nikon mount Helios 85mm f/1.5 on the Fujifilm GFX 50S by Tim Shoebridge is a good example of how the GFX is bringing creativity out of photographers and videographers. Many of the limits that people place on themselves in photography are self-imposed, due to an over-reliance on automatic systems and while the Fujifilm GFX can operate automatically, it is really meant to be used manually.Below there are GFX road trips going on and I hope to do my own photo trip this summer, but the blogs have been busy. Maybe when the Fujinon GF 23 f/4 R LM WR comes in.

The Fujifilm X-T20 is a great second camera for X-T2 owners or a good upgrade for someone looking to move beyond an entry level cameras like the X-A3 or X-A10. I have never been one to use auto image review, but apparently if you have it enabled on your X-T20 you should disable it immediately to maximize your cameras performance. It can cause your camera to miss focus repeatedly.

Above Omar Gonzalez gives some useful tips for novice photographers and below he corrects an error form a previous video where he had focusing issues. If you turn off image review it will speed up autofocus.
