Fujifilm GFX: 5 Reasons to Shoot Medium Format

It has been a while since I did a Fujifilm GFX roundup and it is good to see that there are some new photographers getting their hands on it now as well as some longer term reviews. FujiAddict has been growing by leaps and bounds lately with lots of breaking news here first.

In fact, a reader recently informed me that Fujifilm had something very kind things to say about the site “the Fuji employees commented on how spot on you are” and I would attribute it to our great community and lack of click bait, unlike other sites. So please continue sending in the tips, anonymous and otherwise, so we can remain out in front of the competition and continue growing.

Instax Mickey Edition

Nokisthita reported on Twitter that an Instax Micky camera is coming soon. It looks like it could be a lot of fun for the kids and might be a little more durable than a standard Instax camera. Fujifilm already makes a variety of Disney products for Instax cameras, so this isn’t a surprising announcement. Maybe it will be out in time for Christmas.

This Camera Goes by Instax Mini Tsum Tsum in China

Traditional Fujifilm Lens Sale Coming October 15th

I received a tip today about the upcoming Fujifilm lens sale that we never thought would come and October 15th will be the start date. Stay tuned to FujiAddict for more details and help support the site by using our affiliate links when the sale goes live or for anything else that might interest you (B&H Photo/Amazon/Adorama). Make sure you follow FujiAddict on Facebook, Twitter and turn on your website notifications using the bell icon in the lower left corner of the screen.

It’s unclear how long the sale will last or how many lenses will be available. In the past, desireable lenses have sold out quickly so don’t miss out on your chance to grow your lens collection.

Fujifilm X-T2/GFX Canon Smart Adapters and Nikon Smart Adapters Coming Soon

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qo9hhbJ54xg

We are finally living in a golden age for smart adapters on Fujifilm cameras, which will help photographers easily switch from companies like Canon/Nikon with a minimal investment. Tech Art, Steelsring and Frigner are leading the way by developing adapters that are ever so slightly different. Steelsring has a Nikon smart adapter coming soon according to their site, which will be the most compatible Nikon AF adapter yet for Fujifilm cameras, based on their previous work.

The ability to use legacy glass on mirrorless cameras makes them ideal for photographers looking to switch systems, but it also allows photographers to regain access to lenses with a lot of character. I know a few photographers that prefer to shoot with Russian glass over applying filters to get a more classic look, but there is also a lot of Canon/Nikon glass out there worth trying once they are fully compatible with Fujifilm cameras.

Zero Percent Financing Program Offered Through Fujifilm/Fujinon And Novation Vendor Services

Program Puts Lens Ownership in Reach for Range of Customers

Wayne, N.J., October 2, 2017 – The Optical Devices Division of FUJIFILM is now offering 0%financing, through Novation Vendor ServicesThe program is available for all FUJINON 4K and HD broadcast lenses and the Premier HK 4K+ and Cabrio 4K range of cinema-style lenses.

“We want to make it easier for our customers to buy exactly the lens or lenses they want,” said Thomas Fletcher, Director of Sales, FUJIFILM Optical Devices Division. “We’re able to provide this program thanks to Brandon Brooks at Novation. After working as the finance director for several years in the video and cinema production industry, he’s uniquely qualified because he understands the owner/operator, rental house and production company business. Most financial lenders do not. He knows that if our customers don’t have access to the best gear, they’re hindered in their ability to produce and generate income. They often need to obtain financing without any existing clients in hand. He has a reputation for helping start-up ventures.” Read More »
