Information on black-and-white film and black-and-white photographic paper sales termination
April 6, 2018
FUJIFILM Imaging Systems Co., Ltd.

Thank you very much for your patronage of FUJIFILM products from everyday.

Fujifilm Imaging Systems Co., Ltd. (President: Toru Nishimura) has worked hard to absorb costs such as improving production efficiency and cost savings for black-and-white film and black-and-white photographic paper that have been used for many years. However, As the supply decreased due to the decrease, sales will be terminated.

Although it is truly selfish, thank you for your kind understanding on your circumstances.

We look forward to your continuous patronage of FUJIFILM products in the future.

Fujifilm GFX Rumor Update: GF250mm and GFX50R Might Come Sooner Than Expected: Updated

I touched base with my source about some recent developments and some of the information out there might be premature, but we will know more in the coming months as scheduled meetings advance. There are some interesting developments tough.

– GFX 250mm may come next month
– GFX 50R may be announced in beginning of this summer. It can even be shipped at the beginning of this summer.

UPDATE: a reader reported April 12th will be the announcement day the other day and other sites took it, so I’m adding it here for completion.

It seems that Fujifilm is basically done with these products and just deciding when to release them at this point so they are in a bit of flux at the moment. Fujifilm could drop some surprise announcements on us similar to Sony now.

Adobe Lightroom Update Adds New Features

Whether you love or hate Adobe the new version of Lightroom brings some new features worth trying. Adobe is going to have to create a lot more value over the coming months to fend off programs like Luminar and ON1 in the features department. I’m glad they also seem to be picking up the pace at which they support cameras too because it wasn’t long ago that photographers could be left waiting a month or more for RAW support for their new camera. You can read more about Adobe’s new features here and here.

Fujifilm X-H1: Music Video and FujiGuy Keep Vlogging

Bongeziwe Mabandla created an interesting double exposure video above using the Fujifilm X-H1. One of the best things about a digital workflow is the ease at which you can complete these complicated film techniques today to create something truly unique that might have been overly ambitious in the past. I greatly respect film photographers that can pull this kind of stuff off, but you simply cant dial it into perfection with film the way you can with digital. I would love to see what a Stanley Kubrick would do with the cinematography capabilities we have today.

Below it looks like the FujiGuys wrapped their vlog in Japan. It’s always interesting to see the beauty of Japan and I hope to make it there sooner rather than later. It always amazes me how they have managed to preserve so much of their past right up until today in such a high population density country.
