Darktable Adds Fujifilm X-T3 Support


Darktable now has preliminary Fujifilm X-T3 support. You can check it out on github. Darktable certainly has its own look that is worth giving a try if you’re looking for a Lightroom alternative that supports the X-T3.

Fujifilm GFX 50S Firmware Update Coming and Additional Fujifilm GFX50R Details


Fujifilm added some information to their Fujifilm GFX50R presentation about a future firmware update that is coming could be of interest to GFX owners. They also have some already known information about the new Fujinon GF 100-200mm f/5.6 RLM OIS WR, Fujinon GF 45-100mm f/4 R LM OIS WR, and Fujinon GF 50mm f/3.5 LM WR along with the Fujifilm GFX100S.

Fujifilm GFX50S Update

  • Faster eye sensor detection reaction time when switching from the LCD to EVF
  • Delete RAW + JPEG files together so one file isn’t left on the card
  • 35mm crop mode will be supported with GF and Fujinon HC connected lenses
  • EVF/LCD will be able to show exposure clipping of the white point

Fujifilm GFX50R Update

  • 4 touch screen function for the LCD (which is probably to replace missing buttons from the GFX50R
  • Firmware update via the Fujifilm app

  • Internal EVF saves 60g
  • Using lightweight materials saved 30g

Holga Instax Printer on Kickstarter


Holga launched a kickstarter for a new manual Instax printer from them. Many of the launch rewards are still available so don’t miss out if you’re a Holga or Instax fan. It works with your cell phone and you lay your phone on top of the printer with the image showing and press the shutter button on the Holga Instax printer to transfer the image to Instax film. Then you just manually crank out the exposed Instax and wait for it to develop like any other Instax photo.

They already have a few interesting high-speed lenses on the market for X-Mount that are well regarded, so let’s hope these continue being a good value. New Nissin i400 Listed at B&H Photo


The Nissin i400 is a new “affordable” flash coming soon from Nissin. The only information we have about this flash at this time comes from B&H Photo and it can be read below.

The Nissin i400 TTL Flash for Fujifilm cameras is a simple but powerful compact flash designed for use by both pros and enthusiasts. It features TTL functionality and a guide number of 131′ at ISO 100 and in the 105mm position for providing coverage within a zoom range of 24 to 105mm, or down to 16mm with the built-in wide-angle diffuser. The shoe-mounted flash head tilts upwards 90° and rotates 180° in both directions for complete 360° coverage.

The i400 features full manual control as well as a range of preset modes to achieve just the right lighting setup. Choose from slow-speed, high-speed, and 1st and 2nd curtain synchronization in addition to variable power from 1/1 to 1/256. The flash runs on 4 AA batteries.

  • Simple, no-frills, compact flash designed for both pros and enthusiasts
  • Guide number at ISO 100 of 131′ at 105mm and 89′ at 35mm position
  • Recycle time of 0.1 to 4 seconds
  • Approximately 220 to 1700 flashes on a single set of fully-charged batteries
  • Color temperature of 5600K
  • Exposure compensation from -2 to +2 EV in 1/2 step increments
  • AF assist beam with range of 2.3 to 16.4′
  • Flash duration of 1/800 to 1/20,000 second
  • Red-eye reduction modes
  • Two selector dials on the back of the flash for changing modes and adjusting power settings

Fujifilm X RAW Studio Ver.1.4.0 Now Supports macOS Mojave


Fujifilm released their Notice of FUJIFILM Application Software Used with “macOS Mojave” warning a few weeks ago now and today it was updated with a statement about Fujifilm X RAW Studio now having support for macOS Mojave. You can download the update here.
