Fujifilm GFX100RF: First Shipment Avoided Tarrifs

Fujifilm GFX100RF:
B&H Photo / Amazon / Moment / Adorama

Fujifilm was able to beat the tariffs with their first shipment of Fujifilm GFX100RF cameras, so some lucky readers should receive their cameras on time. After the initial deliveries, we anticipate a pause of Fujifilm GFX100RF, Fujifilm X100VI, and Fujifilm X-M5 orders, which we reported first here. How much prices will rise after that is anyone’s guess, but luxury goods tend to have more profit margin to play with than entry-level goods like the X-M5, which you can read about more here.

If you can’t buy now, do not stretch yourself because you might need the money later, but time is running out if you want to lock in a price point.

Fujifilm Price Increases Are Coming Soon

We received news yesterday through photorumors that Fujifilm is suspending orders of the Fujifilm GFX100RF, Fujifilm X100VI, and Fujifilm X-M5 in the US due to Trump’s tariffs. Retailers must be running out of stock, so Fujifilm has imposed a strategic pause to evaluate its next moves. If the tariffs hold, we can expect price increases to come next, but Fujifilm is likely making efforts to move some production of Chinese cameras to lower tariff countries so they can lessen the impact of tariffs.

We also received news of imminent price increases coming to Canon and Blackmagic, but once again, how much is hard to say. The only retailer we haven’t heard about price increases from yet is Sony, but they haven’t launched a camera in a while, and they aren’t experiencing shortages, so they might be the last retailer to announce price adjustments. B&H Photo and Adorama are currently closed for the next 10 days, so Amazon or Moment might be your best bet to grab a camera before prices go up.

If you can’t buy now, do not stretch yourself because you might need the money later, but if you want to lock in a price point, this is your opportunity.
