Notification FUJIFILM Camera Remote 4.4.1 With iOS13 Fix

Fujifilm updated its iOS and Android camera remote app to 4.4.1.

Notification of FUJIFILM Camera Remote with “iOS13” Smartphones
<Updated history>
January 29, 2020 updated

FUJIFILM Camera Remote Ver.4.4.1 which adds compatibility of connection to smartphones and devices with iOS13 has been delivered. Upgrade to ver.4.4.1 and use it.

December 20, 2019 updated

About the compatibility of FUJIFILM Camera Remote with iOS13 devices, we are still checking it. We have confirmed the case that the Camera Remote cannot recognize a camera’s SSID * due to the change of the OS.
We apologize for your inconvenience and would appreciate it if you could understand the current situation.

For your reference, tentative solutions below can make the Wi-Fi connection more stable.

1. Change the Location setting to ON.

  • Settings>Privacy>Location Services ON
  • Settings>Cam Remote>Location>“While Using the App” or “Always”

2. Change the Bluetooth setting to ON.**

  • Settings>Bluetooth>Bluetooth ON
  • Settings>Cam Remote>Bluetooth ON

3. Change the setting of “Auto-Join Hotspot” to Never.

  • Settings>Wi-Fi> Auto-Join Hotspot >Never

4. Change the Wi-Fi Assist to OFF.

  • Settings>Cellular>Wi-Fi Assist OFF

5. Turn off a smartphone and turn it on again.

* In case that the tentative solutions don’t work.

  • Upgrade the OS to the latest version.
  • If the camera and the Camera Remote are paired via Bluetooth, carry out the “RESET WIRELESS SETTING” of the camera and “Reset APP settings” of the Camera Remote and connect them again from the initial setting.
  • *When FUJIFILM application software communicates with a camera, it tries to recognize the network name of the camera (SSID) for WiFi connection.
  • **Try the solution only when the camera and the Camera Remote are paired via Bluetooth.

Fujifilm released firmware 3.20 for the Fujifilm X-T3. You can download a copy here and read what the update does below

The firmware update Ver.3.20 from Ver.3.10 incorporates the following issues:

  • 1.Enhanced autofocus.
  • *Improving the tracking performance of the eye AF frame, making it easier to attain accurate autofocus on the eyes.
  • *Improving face-detection performance when there are faces of different sizes within the same frame, making it easier to attain accurate autofocus.
  • *Improving autofocus capability on a foreground subject even when there is a mixture of foreground and background subjects within a AF frame, causing the foreground subject to go out of focus, e.g. when shooting flowers against a busy background.
  • 2.Capability to save up to 9,999 pictures in each folder.
Until now, the number of pictures that can be saved in a folder on an SD card was limited to 999. This update will raise the limit by ten times to 9,999 pictures.
