Notice of FUJIFILM Application Software Used with “macOS 10.15.2” :Update

Fujifilm has been dealing with making their software compatible with OSX Catalina for a long time (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) and they aren’t the only company, but we are finally almost there as long as future Apple Updates don’t continue breaking software. I already have one computer I can’t use at all thanks to Catalina

New Laowa 12mm t/2.9 Zero-D Cine

VenusOptic just released the Laowa 12mm t/2.9 Zero-D Cine which seems to be a great cine lens, but there have been a few questions about if the PL mount will cover GFX. Sadly I have to report that it will not cover GFX according to the manufacturer, even though it claims large format and vista vision coverage, but you can use the Laowa 12mm t/2.9 Zero-D Cine on the X-T3 if you wish.

The new 12mm lens is currently the widest t/2.9 lens that can cover sensor up to both full frame & vista vision size (wider than full frame), making it one of the ideal wide angle option for both professional cinema cameras and mirrorless cameras.

Features

– Full Frame / Vista Vision coverage
– Close to zero distortion
– 122 degrees FoV
– Super Compact
– EF or PL or E mount available
– Step-up to 114mm for matte box installation

Fujifilm X-T4 and X-T200 Clickbait Warning

I’m being asked to verify some rumors form a clickbait website that has been trying to game SEO for the past few days so I will clear it up here instead of one at a time.

Yes X-T4 is coming with IBIS as originally leaked here, which means X-H is likely dead, but I haven’t heard anything back yet about the meeting.

X-T4 was obviously going to have better battery life and a top of the line EVF because it is a flagship camera and these things go without saying, but some sites are making posts for SEO.

When I said that the X-T200 would be like the X-A7 I meant the flip screen and innards. Most entry-level cameras use the same parts. The X-T200 is basically an X-A7 with a different form factor.

In fact, the X-T4 having an S1H style flip screen makes it likely that we won’t see many more old-style Fujifilm 3 way screens anymore outside of maybe the X100 and X-Pro line of cameras, which are somewhat unique.

At this time I would take other sites with a grain of salt that are leaking details that could be inferred/implied based on past experience. Details rarely leak one at a time.
