Overview
“FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO” is new RAW conversion software completely different from conventional RAW conversion software. Once connecting a digital camera to a computer, “FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO” allows users to:

  • Convert RAW files in a short time just almost the same duration as a camera takes a photo. And it does not depend on the performance of your computer as the FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO system utilizes the image processor in the camera instead of the CPU in the computer.
  • Get an image with retained exceptional image quality (tonality, color reproduction, noise reduction, and so on of the camera).

Fujifilm Filed An Application to Provide Dosage And Administration Instructions Concerning COVID-19

Fujifilm Filed an Application for Partial Changes to the Manufacturing and Marketing Approval Matters of Anti-Influenza Drug Avigan® Tablet in Japan to Include Additional Indication for COVID-19
TOKYO, October 16, 2020 — FUJIFILM Toyama Chemical Co., Ltd. (President: Junji Okada; hereinafter “FUJIFILM Toyama Chemical”) has announced that the company filed an Application for Partial Changes to manufacturing and marketing approval matters of its anti-influenza drug Avigan® Tablet (generic name: favipiravir,“Avigan”) to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in Japan. The filing seeks to add an indication and other items relating to novel coronavirus infections (hereinafter “COVID-19”).

Avigan, approved for manufacture and sale in Japan as an influenza antiviral drug, selectively inhibits RNA polymerase necessary for influenza virus replication. Due to this mechanism of action, it has been expected that Avigan may have an antiviral effect on the novel coronavirus, as they are RNA viruses of the same type as influenza viruses. FUJIFILM Toyama Chemical conducted phase III clinical trial in Japan in March of this year for COVID-19 patients with non-severe pneumonia. The company confirmed, with a statistically significant difference, that the administration of Avigan demonstrates shorter time to resolution, with no new safety concerns identified.

Based on the results of this trial, FUJIFILM Toyama Chemical filed an Application for Partial Changes to manufacturing and marketing approval matters of Avigan. The filing seeks to add, indication as well as dosage and administration concerning COVID-19 to the current manufacturing and marketing approval items of Avigan.

To meet the requests of the Japanese government to increase stockpiles of Avigan, and by other countries to supply the drug, the Fujifilm Group has been working to increase production of the drug in collaboration with strategic partners both inside and outside Japan. The Fujifilm Group will work to deliver the treatment drug to COVID-19 patients as soon as possible, and contribute to ending the spread of COVID-19.

An anti-influenza drug developed by FUJIFILM Toyama Chemical that obtained domestic manufacturing and marketing approval in March 2014 with the treatment of new or reemerging influenza as the indication. The Japanese government has already stockpiled Avigan in preparation for the outbreak of the novel influenza.

Fujifilm unveils the latest development roadmap for interchangeable lenses for the X Series of mirrorless digital cameras
Adding two new lenses to create an extensive 37-lens lineup to cover versatile shooting styles and situations

TOKYO, October 15, 2020 — FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Kenji Sukeno) has unveiled the latest development roadmap for interchangeable lenses for the X Series of compact and lightweight mirrorless digital cameras, which offer outstanding image quality based on the company’s proprietary color reproduction technology. The latest roadmap shows the addition of two new lenses, i.e. a large-diameter wide angle prime lens and a telephoto zoom lens.

Since launching its first mirrorless digital camera in 2012, Fujifilm has actively added new products to expand the X Series range. At the same time, the lineup for XF interchangeable lenses, designed for the X Series, has been rapidly expanded. XF lenses’ superior descriptive performance and mobility have won the support of professional photographers and photo enthusiasts alike. Newly added to the roadmap are a large-diameter wide-angle prime lens and a telephoto zoom lens, establishing a 37-lens lineup covering extensive focal lengths from ultra-wide angle to ultra-telephoto.

(1) Large-diameter wide angle prime lens
This is a new addition to a group of large-diameter prime lenses, popular for their exceptional descriptive performance with the ability to produce beautiful bokeh. Its highly versatile 18mm focal length (equivalent to 27mm in the 35mm format) and large maximum aperture of F1.4 make it a perfect choice for snapshots and landscape photography.

(2) Telephoto zoom lens
This is a compact telephoto zoom lens, made possible with the compact and lightweight “X Mount” system*. It offers the focal length range of 70 – 300mm (equivalent to 105 – 450mm in the 35mm format) and maximum aperture of F4 – 5.6. Also equipped with the image stabilization function, the lens produces premium image quality in a wide range of photographic situations.

Today, Fujifilm announced the launch of the ultra-wide angle zoom “FUJINON Lens XF10-24mmF4 R OIS WR.” The versatile product lineup, complimented with the two new lenses added to the roadmap, will meet various needs in a diverse range of shooting situations and styles.
