Fujifilm FUJICOLOR SUPERIA X-TRA400 and FUJICOLOR PRO 400H Were Listed and Delisted Again

Fujifilm listed FUJICOLOR SUPERIA X-TRA400 and FUJICOLOR PRO 400H on their website for a few days, but it has since been removed. Some hoped it meant that these film stocks would return soon, but there are now multiple reports in Asia and domestically that this listing was made in error. One interesting difference between domestic reports and the reports in Asia is that Asian reports imply the listing was premature. In contrast, domestic reports say that the listing was made in error.

The reintroduction of film stock that has been discontinued due to difficulties procuring chemicals wouldn’t surprise me with the analog boom happening today. Fujifilm tried to replace FUJICOLOR SUPERIA X-TRA 400 with Fujifilm 400 Color Negative Film several years after its discontinuation, but FUJICOLOR SUPERIA X-TRA 400 and FUJICOLOR PRO 400H might be names that are worth reviving. You can check out the listing on the Internet Archive here and come to your own conclusion.

Fringer EF-FX Ultra Canon EF Focal Reducer Now Available From B&H Photo – Make Your Full Frame EF F/2.8 Zooms F/2 Zooms

Fringer EF-FX Ultra: B&H PhotoAmazon

The Fringer EF-FX Ultra was launched and became available via Amazon in April, but B&H Photo is just receiving stock now. You can find the press release from its launch below.

This adapter from Fringer will make your Canon EF24-70mm F/2.8 into an F/2 zoom for X-mount or turn any f/2.8 zoom into an f/2 zoom!

We are pleased to announce that Fringer EF-FX Ultra (FR-FX071) is released!

It is a focal reducer/speed booster version of the well-known Fringer EF-FX series, which adapts EF mount lenses to Fujifilm X cameras while keeping full-frame lenses’ optical performance as much as possible. It features a newly designed 2-group 5-element optic. Unlike some similar products in the market, the priority of the new design is image quality. To achieve this goal, we even sacrificed the magnification ratio a little bit, i.e., to about 0.74x. The new adapter has similar AF performance and compatibility as EF-FX Pro III.

Using this adapter, the focal length will be reduced and the aperture will be wider. For example, a EF24-70mm F/2.8 lens will become approximately 17-51mm F/2.0.

DPR: Fujifilm GFX100RF Review – Silver Award, But Not Quite an X100

Fujifilm GFX100RF:
B&H Photo / Amazon / Moment / Adorama

DRPreview has significantly slowed their review process, so they are only just releasing their review of the Fujifilm GFX100RF, and it has landed at the top of its class alongside the Leica Q3, earning an 89% and securing a Silver Award. You can read the full review here or check out the excerpt below:

What we likeWhat we don’t
  • Superb image quality
  • Plenty of tactile controls
  • Exceptionally compact for a medium format camera
  • Relatively easy to carry around
  • Built-in ND and included weather-sealing filter make it more versatile
  • Incredible battery life
  • Autofocus works well for street and considered photos
  • No stabilization limits the extremely capable sensor
  • Compact lens isn’t the sharpest edge-to-edge that we’ve seen
  • Familiar EVF gives an unremarkable experience
  • Dedicated zoom and aspect ratio controls won’t be useful if you want max IQ
  • Stylish square lens hood adds substantial bulk
