PDR: Fujifilm X-T5, X-T4, X-H2S, and X-H2 PDR Compared by Photons To Photos

Photons To Photos published its Fujifilm X-T5 PDR results, and they are disappointing when compared to the Fujifilm X-H2 and X-T4. While the Fujifilm X-H2 hangs with the Fujifilm X-T4 well, the Fujifilm X-T5 falls behind by around 400 ISO and stays there. It almost looks like Fujifilm set up the sensor in the X-H2, X-T4, and X-H2S with dual native ISOs, while the X-T5 has a pretty flat response from 150 ISO up. The difference is performance could also be a cooling issue, but no matter what it is the above results are disappointing if you like to shoot in low light or without a flash. You can manipulate the full results here if you are interested.

New Lensbaby Composer Pro II with Double Glass II Optic

Draw more attention to your subject with a circular spot of focus surrounded by a beautifully blurred background by using the Lensbaby Composer Pro II with Double Glass II Optic, available here with a FUJIFILM X mount. This updated tool is completely compatible with the established Optic Swap System and can use any of the numerous optics available. This version improves upon the original Pro model by featuring a metal body as well as an improved tilt function that ranges from 0-15° in any direction.

Bundled with it is the Double Glass II Optic, a 50mm optic with a 12-blade diaphragm that creates a “sweet spot” of focus when tilted that can be manipulated in position by tilting the Composer and manipulated in size by manually changing the aperture from f/2.5 to 22. Further expand the image’s creative possibilities with nine specialty magnetic disks, featuring apertures in shapes such as the five-pointed star or heart, that render out-of-focus points of light with the same shape as the aperture. The optic is compatible with all of Lensbaby’s current and legacy Optic Swap lens bodies and macro accessories.

  • Composer Pro II features an upgraded metal body with charcoal gray accents and an improved tilt control from 0-15° in any direction.
  • Compatible with Lensbaby Optic Swap System.
  • The Double Glass II Optic creates a “sweet spot” of focus surrounded by an impressionistic blend of blur and bokeh.
  • Aperture range from f/2.5 to 22.
  • Lens construction features two multi-coated glass elements in 1 group.

Kam Lan KL 70mm f/1.1 Coming Soon

Kam Lan showed off the Kam Lan KL 70mm f/1.1 at CP+ 2023 for Canon EF-M, Sony E, Nikon Z, and Fujifilm X mounts. Kam Lan also has a unique built-in lens hood for this lens that you can see in the pictures above.

A single focal lens for APS-C “KL 70mm F1.1” was on display for reference. The lineup includes Canon EF-M, Sony E, Nikon Z, and Fujifilm X mounts.

There is a member that blocks the top and bottom of the front of the lens, but this plays the role of a hood and does not affect shooting. By the way, the hood is also prepared separately. The lens itself feels solid.
