Optical Limits posted its full Fujinon XF56mm f/1.2 R WR MKII review, which you can read in full here or check out the pros/cons below:

It’s more than just usable at f/1.2 and impressive when stopped down a little bit. Lateral CAs are low, and axial CAs (LoCAs) aren’t a big concern either. Image distortions are nothing to worry about. The original vignetting is on the high side but is well auto-corrected. The quality of the bokeh is good.

Pros

  1. Very sharp for a lens this fast
  2. Nice build quality

Cons

  1. The AF is still slow and noisy
  2. RAW vignetting on the high side at f/1.2

ProGrade Digital Announced Price Increases Of Up To 123% Coming January 8 Thanks to AI

This press release is for Japan, but prices will increase everywhere because memory production is being squeezed globally thanks to AI. Some of the increases are pretty steep, so grab some memory cards at the current prices while you can from B&H Photo and Amazon.

Responding to the significant price increase of flash memory due to the surge in demand associated with the construction of AI infrastructure

Due to the rapid increase in demand for semiconductor memory associated with the construction of AI infrastructure, and the resulting significant increase in flash memory prices, ProGrade Digital Inc. will raise the regular prices on the Amazon.co.jp ProGrade Digital Inc. store on January 8, 2026. At the same time, the exchange rate, currently $1 = 150 yen, will be changed to $1 = 155 yen to reflect the current exchange rate. Please refer to the price list for the new regular prices.

Although supply uncertainty and price fluctuations are expected to continue in the semiconductor memory market in 2026, we will make every effort to maintain as stable a product supply as possible.

Fujifilm X Half Sale Extended Until March 1st

The Fujifilm X Half sale was scheduled to end on December 28th, but the sale has been extended. I hope the camera is selling better at this price point, as it is a unique idea that deserves further development. The novelty of the shooting experience is one that more photographers and aspiring photographers should experience, but Fujifilm needs to work out a few small connectivity bugs.
