Full Spectrum Infrared Camera Sensor Analysis by Irrecams and SurfLabX

Irrecams has an interesting article about the differences between various cameras and sensors that have been converted to Full Spectrum with testing performed by SurfLabX. When exploring the infrared sensitivity of various camera sensors, Fujifilm models like the X-T3 show impressive capabilities, detecting infrared light up to 1,200 nm.

Interestingly, frontside and backside illuminated sensors have similar performance, indicating that sensor manufacturing techniques have minimal impact on infrared performance, similarly, sensor size does not play a factor. Noise control and dynamic range are the most important aspects when capturing high-quality infrared images, and the Fujifilm X-T3 and X-A3 do both well especially beyond 1000nm. Fujifilm X Summit 2024 Clay Studio Announced and Update Video Released Updated

Fujifilm just announced the X Summit 2024 at Clay Studio which will take place on October 14 at 9AM EST. We expect to see the announcement of the Fujifilm X-M5, Fujinon XF16-55mm f/2.8 II, and Fujinon XF500mm f/5.6 at the event. Make sure you join us for the live blog.

Fujifilm also provided an October update video

In the update video, Fujifilm released an update about the GFX challenge grant program that closed in September. There are also Firmware updates coming in November that should add features and improve autofocus relating to subject and face/eye detection on X-H2S, X-H2, and GFX100II while shooting video. Fujifilm will also add F-Log2 C that adds a wide color gamut and time code synchronization by Ambient Lockit devices through a wired connection. Fujifilm is also considering other enhancements.
